An ugly win last night against the Terps. It's difficult to figure out which direction this team is heading.
This match against Indiana probably won't tell us a lot. You expect a sweep and anything less raises further doubts.
51 swings for Madi and only 21 swings for the middles. It still amazes me how often Hames and Stivrens DON'T connect after four years, particularly on the slide. Wonder what Stivrins hitting percentage would be if she got consistent sets to hit. Hames is a good setter but not elite. She is the limiting factor on how far this team will go in the tourney. There are enough offensive options at her disposal to make this team go.
Purdue and Minnesota (still without decent middle play) seem to be trending up. Nebraska seems to be treading water which leaves one behind at this point in the season.

Unfortunately, you raise good questions. On one of the Wisconsin threads, a poster was observing that the Badgers seem a bit stale and flat in their play and wondered whether the extra year may be dragging a bit on the super seniors especially. You have to think that it's hard to maintain focus through the long grind.

Thanks for setting this up, avid!
I'll be at the match, so maybe not checking in all that much. Still, I'll try at least to give an initial impression of the crowd in attendance.

You have to think that it's hard to maintain focus through the long grind. They may be right about the grind wearing on the players after essentially back to back (spring and fall) seasons, particularly the super seniors. But then you have a team like Purdue who is chock full of super seniors, that have seemingly figured it out. I'm sure there are other factors with the Boilers improved play namely Hourning and Johnson getting healthier. I don't follow them as closely as you do. As far as the Huskers treading water, I admit to being spoiled by the 2017 season when there was a huge hole on the left side that the Huskers were trying to fill. Albrecht struggled in the early matches, then it came together for her (the UCLA series) and suddenly she was playing like an All-American. Tyler was largely responsible for that transition. I keep hoping the same thing will happen, but with the season end closing fast, it doesn't appear likely.

Who gets the start, Krause or Whit?
Whit looked promising against Maryland. She can absolutely detonate.

Would have liked a cleaner game. Not seeing the confident flow of energy which was seen a couple of weeks ago. I think a Kumbya moment is needed, and these women need to start trusting each other full heartedly.

Place is maybe half full, lots of red. Seriously, itβs looking like close to half Nebraska fans.
