I've always believed that when your setter leads or nearly leads in digs, you have defensive problems. Now I'm sure of it. I don't like criticizing a team for lack of energy, but Stanford really looked flat. Campbell played as if she was asleep. If Stanford had any options, Campbell would be sitting. She could be ailing. Anyway, a win against a weak team even weaker from injuries, meh.

For some reason, women's teams live and die by the philosophy of taking out the setter by making her play the first ball. Colorado certainly did this tonight, and Miner was up to the task and racked up the digs. This Stanford team does have defensive issues, but Miner leading in digs wasn't a huge indicator tonight, IMO.

I think Kipp brings a lot of positive energy to her team with her smiles and enthusiasm. Maybe the announcer pointed it out because of the contrast with the other players.

I hope Kipp continues to improve… she’s got pro potential Agree, I think the Covid season did her no favors in her development. I could easily see her being an Annie Drew's type player in five years.
