So, what was our personnel in the 5-2 tonight? Jhenna only playing/setting from the 3 back row rotations, and Saige playing all 6 rotations (hitting in the Opposite position for 3 rotations), but setting only from the 3 back row rotations?

Don't think so. Appeared to be the same as they having been playing the two setters for the last few games. SKT might have played a few more rotations than usual and served a time or two. Gabriel had 26 assists to 9 for SKT so Gabriel still played the majority of the time.

Finally got the box score up. Really well rounded hitting. Good to see that going into the tournament.

“Carry” it seemed like he blew the whistle before she even touched the ball hell It wasn’t a carry. Iosia used her hands in front of the ten foot line and Saige attacked the ball, illegal swing. I waited until the replay of the second game was uploaded and then scanned through the game until the point in the second set with the whistle was blown.
Can you explain the illegality of this play? Iosia was digging a ball with her hands above her head while straddling the 10 ft line. Illegal?

if your foot is on or in front of the ten foot line, the libero cannot contact the ball with her hands to make a set for an attack. Since Iosia was on the ten foot line and Saige proceeded to attack the set, it was ruled as an illegal play. does that clear it up? it's hard to word.

Since Saige attacked, it converted Iosia's "dig/pass" into a "set". Thanks.

Anytime a libero contacts the ball with their hands in front of the ten foot, the next ball cannot be sent over with a contact above the plane.

Amazing that the up ref can process where Iosia's feet were as well as hand touch and then quickly analyze what Saige is about to do. Cause I coulda sworn I heard that whistle go off while Saige was touching the ball.

Would not have noticed it while watching the replay if I hadn't known it was going to happen. A little more respect for the refs from me.

I went back and watched it too and you can see that Nani realized almost as soon as she did it. It looks like she was trying to tell Saige also.
