I think losing a set actually helps them. Rallying back from that set loss and stomping Iowa State in the next two will be a great confidence boost for them going into the Minnie match

Should have predicted that the Card would drop one set as usual. Yeah. Honestly, this should've been a 3-0 win with every set score in the 25-18 range. Things got pretty routine once Francis played big. Gonna need a lot of that tomorrow. |

Yeah, the ISU libero going, "y'all talk about whatever you want, and I'ma go chill over here on the exercise bike" is definitely odd. Although i seem to recall that back in the day, Logan Tom would just drink her water and stand by herself outside the huddle circle -- both with Stanford and with Team USA. Iām assuming itās just the way she keeps focused on the game. Or, since sheās Serbian, maybe her English skills arenāt as great as everyone would want, and itās more confusing than helpful to her? She appeared to have a couple other quirks/superstitionsā¦ when going to serve, she would always stay/go into the court to get the ball bounced to her, before going over to her serving spot. (I like looking for player behavior thatās quirkie.)  Pretty sure she is *not* 5ā5ā as listed in the program! |

Pop speaks English well, that was not the reason. She doesn't have beef with the coaches or players. All I will say is she wanted to stay healthy and so did the rest of the team. If you can read between those lines. I love her OCD quirks. Always with the serving and tying her shoes. Lots of hopping. She is also about 5'5" maybe an inch shorter. I will also add that she is a sweetheart and will miss her on the court next year. ISU will have some rebuilding but we have some good pieces to start with. I know many of you do not care for Newsome, but she has been amazing for us this year and excited she returns next year. Also add that I can see maybe 2 girls transferring out. |
