The AAU posted on their website teams that are committed to sending teams and those who have paid. To be honest, smaller than I thought it would be. Obviously no major shock with maybe the exception of MVVC. aauvolleyball.org/2022BoysNationals

I’m not surprised. Let’s be serious it took some clubs up to wed to get rosters done for Milwaukee. Lol
We don’t budget that far out. We do a second budget for nationals.
Aau will easily hit over 300 plus teams this year.
Most of who was in Milwaukee will end up going to Aau plus the rest of their club. Plus all the extra clubs joining in.
Would we of signed up for USA nationals already? Nope that happens like in January.
Opening week in the pa with three events back to back to back.
85 teams - independent host
80 plus Aau - super regional
20 plus - USA plus the Yt invite with men’s open and pro.

I was just saying surprised by this because the AAU gave options to verbally commit to the tournament with no financial string attached and noted that it had seemed a lot of those clubs who are pushing the note on AAU over USAV would for sure either register fully or put down the verbal commit. I am simply just noting the list was smaller than I expected. I know many clubs cannot count how many teams they will or will not send to nationals right now. I’m not surprised. So was just surprised to see them on the list already fully committed.

In my eyes it wasn't a surprise at all, MVVC and B2B are two of the top clubs in the nation, they are just following the comp.

Winning 1 or 2 medals at bjnc every year does not put you with the top clubs in the nation. Winning 6 or 7 does Interesting take... I did not know that winning a medal at nationals classified you as a top club in the nation? I would assume that top clubs means consistently performing at the top percentage in the country as a club overall in which case Bay to Bay and MVVC do. If you are saying you have to win 6 or 7 medals a year to be considered a top club in the country then that number is VERY small... Limited to really MB Surf and Balboa Bay.

It's still early for AAU signups, but things will get really clear in mid-January once the USAV qualifier occurs in Chicago. Outside of the announced SCVA clubs, Chicago and St. Louis will have the rest of the big named clubs in the US and Puerto Rico. Any team declining a bid at check-in will be announcing their decision on where they plan to go. I'm more interested in seeing how far down the bids will trickle in Open/USA if a bunch of the top teams at those tournaments decline bids.

So many surf fanboys on this site, someone should start a thread to somehow compare UH mens volleyball against MB surf and see if VT mens forum explodes. BB is the only club that has come close to consistently taking 4 or more medals a year in all divisions of nationals. B2B should be in the "top clubs" conversation as much as surf

But you are right on this site everyone talks about their club in every age group. Good club, not the best.

I was joking, know you aren't but there is so much "fake news" that subconsciously people start believing the hype. Say it enough and it somehow becomes fact.
