Wonder why Pukis is in the portal? She seemed happy at WSU. it could be purely academic. there’s tons of reasons why people transfer.

Pukis has been at WSU for four years, which is the usual time to be an undergrad. I assume she's probably looking to go somewhere else for grad school. I would guess that if she was just going pro, she wouldn't bother with the portal.

Once again, do not expect me to update this until after all the matches have been played on Thurs.
Hopefully there will still be PAC matches after that, but also that could be the end for this thread.

Well, I'm back home, turned on the TV to see that Washington had a 2-0 lead and a 15-10 lead in the 3rd, but Texas won that set.

This thread sure didn't last very long this year. What a down year for the PAC.

Wow, super rough showing for the Pac-12. This season might be its lowest point for the conference as a whole that i can remember.

Except for the Oregon match, the PAC-12 teams won every match they were predicted to win by pablo. And Washington just came close to picking off Texas @ Texas.
I'm not seeing this as some kind of a disaster or anything.

I'm not seeing this as some kind of a disaster or anything. I definitely thought UW could’ve pulled it off and they almost did. Watched a lot of Texas matches in the past. They’re kind of similar to UW in many ways. Definitely hurt that our OH2 and MB2 aren’t as good as those of Texas. Also… we couldn’t dig balls. I thought there were a good number of diggable ones mishandled. Also not the best match by EMP. I definitely think the Texas HCA played a part. Regardless, very fun match and definitely too early in the tourney grr. Going to be so hard to replace Sam.

Is this the first time the Pac conference has ever been shut out of the regional finals?

Is this the first time the Pac conference has ever been shut out of the regional finals? Had to look it up. Unless I missed something while researching this, it happened one other time in 1998.

Had to look it up. Unless I missed something while researching this, it happened one other time in 1998. Wonder how much of it can be attributed to Covid super seniors As far as teams reaching the final 16, I'd attribute it more to injuries that hurt continuity and development -- Borup/Oregon, Miner/Kipp/Oglivie Stanford, Timmer/WSU, Luper/UCLA. As the season progressed, and we saw how the teams played, it became apparent that the Pac-12 was lacking top 10 teams, with the possible exception of U-Dub.
