Many people would argue the opening round is the best part of the Men's basketball tournament. There is a certain segment of the sports viewing population that just loves the upsets. Unfortunately, much of the discussion of of how to determine the champion in other NCAA sports is based on the men's basketball tournament. But the volleyball tournament simply doesn't provide the same number of upsets, not even the women's basketball tournament does for that matter. With the regionalization of the volleyball tournament, I don't see what the thrill is for FAMU. They got to take a bus trip from Jacksonville to Gainesville to get beatdown by the Gators. woot! woot! Correction: FAMU is in Tallahassee, in which case maybe there excitement was more understandable.  There is nothing... At all exciting about the drive from Tally to Gavinesville... Ok... Unless the A-10s are flying... But that's only a quick blip of joy and awe I am in wisconsin right now I woke up this morning and had to tell my kid to be safe driving to school as it snowed last night It is currently 32f and grey The sun sets in 5 hours and it isn't even noon I have 4 more months of this I will take the "unexciting" drive from Tally to Gainesville any day |

There is nothing... At all exciting about the drive from Tally to Gavinesville... Ok... Unless the A-10s are flying... It’s easy to get used to! And also easy to take for granted. After tonight’s match I get to wake up early Saturday am and make the “unexciting” drive to Miami for a noon Clemson-Miami basketball game. I’ll somehow find a way to make it work. |
