Now imagine this UCLA team without May and Fleck. Would've loved to see it. Then maybe we'd see if the coaching staff could really, you know, coach.

Even with an all time great like May on the roster for 5 years, UCLA postseason record with her is a pathetic 6-4 .

Sad for May but happy for Wisconsin they have worked hard to get back to where they need to be. Should be interesting if Samedy is healthy if not Wisconsin back in the Final Four.

Now imagine this UCLA team without May and Fleck. Another year of an LA PAC-12 school missing the tournament?

Guess it's time for the Gophers vs. Badgers in Round III.
Lots of storylines there...

UCLA setter crossed over center line. Down ref clearly didn’t see it and had to be shown again LOL>. "had to be shown again" If only every other team got the benefit of that on replays. So gross Yeah. It's a conspiracy 🙄

Too bad UCLA's setting is so horrible. This would be a much different match. 🙄

Love that Lutz is back at Wisconsin doing her masters. Except Smrek can jump and has a propensity to hit just over the net when on the right, usually straight into the block.

Even with an all time great like May on the roster for 5 years, UCLA postseason record with her is a pathetic 6-4 . She does end up finishing 3rd all time in kills for UCLA with 2063. Top 2 are Kristee Porter (2255) and Natalie Williams (2115). Liz Masakayan is the other players with 2000+ kills finishing at 2044.

But hearing the name Kristee Porter and watching Wisconsin vs UCLA tonight reminds me of the Regional Final in 2000 when Wisconsin played UCLA in a 3-hour 5 set match (before rally scoring). The Badgers won in 5 with Meggan Kohnen doing her best Willis Reed impression and stabilizing the Badger passing on 1 leg. I’ve been watching volleyball for 40 years and that marathon match is still the gold standard. Best volleyball match I ever watched AND the loudest I’ve ever heard the Field House.

Karch talking up Carlini... ugh He’s got a lot of nerve showing his face in the Field House after what he did to her. Like what, giving his team the best chance at winning a gold medal which they eventually did? Some of you really have to go over it. No one is taking it from Carlini, she is an exceptional player and would’ve made probably every other roster. She will have a chance to compete for a spot in Paris 24. It’s not like it was Karch’s personal vendetta on not giving Carlini a spot.
