so I coach for rockwood thunder and our top team hasn’t been called mizuno for like 3 years lmao. They are a very good squad though. All the top teams at Rockwood are called elite.

Curious about the 18's. Isn't every player on a top club already committed if they didn't leave for college yet? By "top clubs", I mean teams who will qualify. Are there many players who aren't committed? I don't know.
I'm a little surprised that more peeps aren't more interested in the 15's/16's/17's.

Some 18s are not yet committed, but start a 17s, I'm down.

Remember the 22’s got dealt a very rough deck of cards.. it’s not your older DD’s recruiting game any more… unfortunately for this class without a doubt

If they were lucky to have found a school, the situation they thought they were walking into may be very different now.

It’s never what they think it will be but that’s going to be magnified for the next three years.

Haha I’ll change it to just “Qualifier Season” instead of narrowing it down to 18s. Agree with you all, that Instagram account is not credible at all I just thought it was interesting and a conversation starter.

What? Qualifiers make money? Not according to somebody who ran a Q for years - would cry that he lost money doing it for the kids! Qualifier directors - if they run the tournament correctly - make bank, especially on the girls side.

Yep they make bank but one director said he lost money, but then again the not for profit lost money but his equipment company made bank! He was a total scumbag liar!

May I present: Drive Nation 17 RedCoached by the legendary Ping Cao, this team is expected to be at the top for the duration of the season. Carrying over 7 athletes from the 2021 GJNC 16 Open Runner-Up Drive Nation 16 Red Team (coached by DN Director Jason Nicholson & Ebony Nwanebu), and adding 3 athletes from the 2021 GJNC 16 Open Champions TAV 16 Black, this team is STACKED. Beginning with the core 7 already from Drive Nation: 6’3” MB Leah Ford (USC) 6’5” MB Reese Robins (Louisville) 5’11” S Lily Nicholson 6’1” OH Halle Schroder (Boston College) 5’10” OH Lauryn Hill (Louisiana-Lafayette) 6’0” OPP Samantha Hoppes (Boston College) 5’7” L/DS Landry McEachern The 3 crossovers from TAV: 6’3” MB Ceci Gooch (Michigan) 6’3” OPP Nicole Mauser (California Baptist) 5’10” S Callie Kieffer (Alabama) Final two from Skyline/Madfrog 6’3” OH Bailey Miller (West Virginia) 5’8” L/DS Kea Whillock Considering the all-North Texas Region championship in 16 Open last year, this age group as a whole is incredibly competitive in North Texas. Ping put together a team (as usual) that has the potential to dominate every tournament. Of course, we thought the same of this Drive team last year and then they got beat by their hometown rivals in the National Championship (most watched BallerTV game of any sport for all of 2021, by the way). Given the crossovers and personnel changes, it will be a fun season to watch and see who can pull it out come July. I’m excited to see what Cao can do with this group. Interestingly, three athletes (Ford, Whillock, and McEachern) attend school together and led their team to the UIL 6A State Championship Game in November. (Left->Right) Top Row: Halle Schroder, Nicole Houser, Ceci Gooch, Reese Robins, Leah Ford, Bailey Miller, Samantha Hoppes, Ping Cao Bottom Row: Lauryn Hill, Kea Whillock, Landry McEachern, Lily Nicholson, Callie Kieffer

(North Texas Region) First major tournament schedule posted. "MLK Tournament - NTR Bid Event" Jan 8-9, 2022 Should be a good first look at competition coming out of NTR, high competition levels just based on club name recognition. Interestingly to my last post, zero TAV teams at any level. Sorry I keep harping on NTR, but that's all I'm familiar with at this point in the year until more national qualifiers come around. This event will be on BallerTV for those interested.

Qualifier directors - if they run the tournament correctly - make bank, especially on the girls side. Yep they make bank but one director said he lost money, but then again the not for profit lost money but his equipment company made bank! He was a total scumbag liar! All you have to do is create separate non profits/LLCs for each portion of the tournament you run. That way one group's loss is another's profit in the books. You make money every way you turn.

There are a lot of talent stacked teams across the the division; looking forward to seeing what develops =)
