17s are very competitive this year. There are a lot of talent stacked teams across the the division; looking forward to seeing what develops =) Agree, in SoCal the 17s are very strong. I am looking forward to the PVL tournament at end of month. My kid's team was able to qualify into "premier" division and it will be great competition. Per my kid, it's Coast, Sunshine LA and Wave as teams to beat. Legacy also had a strong qualifier. Apparently, T-Street had some players defect and is not as strong as previous in the 2023s. For years they were top dog in SoCal for this age group. Good luck to all for a strong season.

May I present: Drive Nation 17 RedCoached by the legendary Ping Cao, this team is expected to be at the top for the duration of the season. Carrying over 7 athletes from the 2021 GJNC 16 Open Runner-Up Drive Nation 16 Red Team (coached by DN Director Jason Nicholson & Ebony Nwanebu), and adding 3 athletes from the 2021 GJNC 16 Open Champions TAV 16 Black, this team is STACKED. When has he ever not had a stacked roster of talent?

Teams to watch at 16s: A5 Dynasty NKYVC Tsunami TAV Milwaukee Sting Teams to watch at every age group every year: A5 TAV Milwaukee Sting I'd advocate for any watch list only naming teams that will deviate from the norm. Will Drive National be especially good at the 17s this year with Ping? Will TAV 17s be especially down? We could fill an entire thread with lists of good clubs that are always competitive in Open. I guess this thread will gain a lot more traction in a month or so after a few events.

TAV 17 seemed to have field a good team this year plus the coach from the 16 team that won last year is coaching 17s now.

I may do one about TAV too since that age group seems to be the mecca of the club this year.

Teams to watch at 16s: A5 Dynasty NKYVC Tsunami TAV Milwaukee Sting Mad frog and maybe Drive nation as well I suspect Drive Nation and Madfrog 16's will get even stronger given all the Ping drama at TAV. A5 16-1's recalibrated and have an incredible team assembled, but poached a couple of good ones from the 2's team last year.

Drive Nation hasnāt been much of a factor at this age level. Madfrog is top 10 for sure.

Metro 16s could make some noise. Their roster has improved from last year and they finished 13th in nationals. Of course I can't say how that compares with other 16 teams that may also have "improved" their roster or are just bringing back the same players.

PV just released their 18s Top 30 prediction. TAV Black is #6 and does not exist as a team. PV, please do a little bit of research before posting your article.
