I'm supposed to be in Japan playing World Masters Water Polo that week (seriously) but I imagine that event will be canceled because of COVID. So I plan to be in Shreveport drinking a beer with some VTers who never imagined themselves watching vball in such a place. Which casino is the "nicest" (coming from someone who's bougie) to stay at? Would be helpful for comps if it's an MGM, Caesars, or Penn/Pinnacle property?

Could Shreveport have had an edge because of the Bally's property? I know Bally's just bought the AVP, and USAV and AVP did just partner.

I'd rather go to Ottawa or Calgary than Louisiana. real seafood at least, birdwatching is also great during that time period.

I went to the last VNL in Shreveport. It’s just an armpit of a town. No way around it. Literally anywhere in the US would be preferable.

like not even trying to be ignorant or whatever, but I’ve lived in America my whole life and never heard of Shreveport-Bossier until they hosted IOQT, even in passing. there better be some serious discounts on tickets is all i’m saying. depending on where you are, it might actually be more straightforward to travel to Ankara lmao

I mean, if we’re gonna do Louisiana, could we at least get New Orleans?

Tickets were $25 and $35 for IOQT. I looked at the VNL bidding process and one of the requirements is an international airport..... which is in Dallas you know what'd be great to host in Dallas? lol Houston has one as well, if they wanted it to be in the south that bad

I keep hearing about how all the world travel is a pain for the players. So, you think that when they get the chance for a home weekend, they would make it at "home". In Southern California, where they don't have to get on another plane, and can sleep in their own beds.

Also isn't it hurricane season? Maybe think about that when you're scheduling a multinational event that requires air travel?
