Also isn't it hurricane season? Maybe think about that when you're scheduling a multinational event that requires air travel? Not hurricane season.

And how are those Louisiana COVID rates these days? Not at high as you might guess. Cold-weather states currently occupy the top 5 spots in most reported cases per 100k residents. I specify "reported cases" because Florida is also listed as a lower-spread state, however it is well documented that they are cooking the books there. Realistically speaking there isn't any state in the country that is "doing well" with COVID. Just certain areas and populations have had enough COVID-fatigue that they are trying to live their lives "back to normal."

Too bad this doesn't coincide more closely datewise with the ncaa beach tournament which isn't too far away. I did a Great River Road road trip a few years ago ending at Gulf Shores but which was interrupted a lot by flooding and I'd like to do it again sometime. If the events were closer in time I'd maybe be a remote working nomad for a couple weeks. I'm not going to spend a month in that area, however.

Cold-weather states currently occupy the top 5 spots in most reported cases per 100k residents. Except this is being held in early June, so likely the seasonal shift will have moved the high infection rates to places which prefer to be indoors in the summer (for AC).
