Is he not the most or close to the most successful coach on campus? Any talk of him being on hot seat is a call for drug testing. Yeah besides Eddie Reese (men's swimming coach). I think our AD has football and angry football boosters to worry about. Not JE. Yeah, Eddie Reese is by far the most successful coach on campus and will be forever. I don't see any other sport getting anywhere close to him, unless Sark wins like four championships or something lol

Oh no, I was talking about passing numbers. I thought the team had a pretty great offensive match against that Texas block. I'm trying to see who was dragging down their passing stats. Eye test tells me it was definitely Akana since she got aced a few times at the start and shanked a few balls. But she also got worked on a LOT by all of the good Texas servers. Definitely one of her more inconsistent games. Knuckles as well but not to the same degree. As far as I remember, Madi and Roddy pretty much passed mostly dimes. Could be off tho. Yep, usually Petersen serves the one OHs in zone 5 who's front row. When she started serving down the line I knew the plan was to serve Akana and keep it as far away from Roddy as possible. They definitely did a much better job at not serving the libero compared to the match against Washington, which probably helped in forcing Nebraska to pass a 1.8.

Nebraska played great, and Texas didn't match that level. It wasn't the "throw'or anything else-Nebraska simply beat them. That had to be the best Nebraska has played all year.

Elliot is nowhere near on the hot seat. He's consistently Top 10. It would be a way worse decision that Nebraska deciding to axe Solich because he was always 9-4. If you follow Texas Athletics, they have way bigger problems than worry that one of their most successful programs isn't winning enough national titles. Is he not the most or close to the most successful coach on campus? Any talk of him being on hot seat is a call for drug testing. Every coach in the country has been left way in the dust by Eddie Reese. But yes, next to Reese, Elliott is at the top at UT and has built a beautiful amazing program that has given many many people, including yours truly, great enjoyment over the years. So there's surely zero chance he has anything to worry about and I for one would only say "thank you" to him and his staff for all their hard work which has led to great success and a whole lot of fun over the years.

Fine little Monday to come on and see some "hot seat or not" debating about the coach who has been to 9 of the last 14 final fours and hasn't missed a regional since 2005 to be on the hot seat.
I'm lol'ing thinking of an athletic dept's announcement and what in god's name they could even say to justify such a move. "We acknowledge he took us to 9 of 14 final fours but then lost to teams like Stanford and Nebraska. We can't live with that."

IMO, I agree this was NE's best match of the season led by improved play by the freshman. It was Nebraska's best win. I don't know if it was their best game. Passing was suspect at times, and I'd like to see more production from middles and Kubik in FF. I thought they looked better both Purdue games.

Great game to watch. Congratulations to both teams. Interesting to see that the most physical team (in my opinion) does not win. Nebraska was on fire. It was nice to see such a team bond and excitement.

The beauty of the Nebraska beatdown on texas is that it shows you once again that posters like horns1 know nothing about college volleyball

The beauty of the Nebraska beatdown on texas is that it shows you once again that posters like horns1 know nothing about college volleyball I'm not going to vouch for how much or little horns1 knows about college volleyball, but that match could as easily been 3-1 Texas. I don't think Nebraska winning or Texas winning means anyone knows volleyball. Anything can happen this deep into the tournament.

As much as the burnt orange are at the top of my "team I hate to lose to" list (and also at the top of the "team I enjoy beating more than any other" list)...any idea that Jerritt Elliott is on the hot seat is absolutely ludicrous. He's incredibly successful and has been for a long time. And as was mentioned upthread, the AD in Austin has far bigger fish to fry right now with football.
Jerritt ain't going anywhere, folks...unless it's his decision.

Nebraska Texas volleyball produces some great battles. IMO from Nebraska's point of view now, I think Nebraska's biggest rival matches are against: Penn State, Stanford, Texas, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Purdue. In the future, we may see Ohio State crowd into that list. One person's opinion.

Excited for the match. Nebraska hasn't faced Texas in Austin since early September 2015. Who could forget Ebony Nwanebu's performance as she introduced herself to Longhorn fans in her first match at Texas after transferring from USC? Too bad she wouldn't get to play again that season due to injury. Despite the 3-2 loss, Nebraska learned a lot, made lineup changes as a result of that loss, and later beat Texas in Omaha for the national championship; talk about going full circle in a season. Really not sure what to expect tonight as there is so much on the line for both programs. IMO, whichever team serves the toughest and receives serve the best will most likely win. Sounds simple, right? I think I know enough about volleyball to know what impacts the outcome of a match. As for Gladys Kravitz , it's almost time for you to find another college volleyball player to obsessively stalk and pretend you have an in-person friendship with. You got a bonus year due to COVID, but after less than one more week, you will need a new target (prey).
