they just want half the money on each side so they collect their 5% on the total bet. $1000 laid on each side:
Wisc wins - book takes the $1000 from the Louisville bettors and owes the Wisconsin bettors $1450. Loss of $450.
Louisville wins - book takes the $1000 from the Wisconsin bettors and owes the Louisville bettors $526.31. Gain of $473.
$1000 laid on Wisc, $1900 laid on Louisville:
Wisc wins - book takes the $1900 from the Louisville bettors and owes the Wisconsin bettors $1450. Gain of $450. Louisville wins - book takes the $1000 from the Wisconsin bettors and owes the Louisville bettors $1000. Even.
So, not quite as simple as you're making it out to be, in this case.
But it's not difficult to determine how much needs to be laid on each side, relative to the odds, in order for the book to always come out ahead, and no doubt they tune the odds to push the laid money towards that scenario.

I think the Badgers will have to dig deep, and breathe deeply, to win this. And I think they can. Maybe 3-2. Hoping they come flying out of the gate, and don't give away a serve-and-pass advantage early on.
Go Badgers...On Wisconsin!

After watching the last Minnesota matchups..it seems a tight set until About 15s and then pulling away is better than gacking up a big lead!

Undoubtedly a choice that everyone can agree on.

Would love to see a 5-setter but this will probably end in a sweep. Two completely contrasting styles usually result in some sort of unpredictable mismatch. Louisville's relentless consistency that wears down opponents into unforced errors vs Wisconsin's problematic front line with completely individualistic offensive pieces and a Tetris-like block to work through.
Could go either way and I can't wait to see either team in the championship!

Undoubtedly a choice that everyone can agree on. Wisconsin's Brittney Dildine named assistant coach of the year. A choice we can argue endlessly?

Yep, I see a couple carpetbaggers in there. Shown here in their natural state.
