I have not heard of any. Should there be any, we may not hear until classes begin again Jan 18th (Jan 17th there are no classes due to MLK Jr. Day)

Even if she cannot play because of injury Illinois would still have to honor her scholarship. I don't know if they can use a different fund that would not count against the 12 scholarship limit if she is not on the roster. If she is on schedule to graduate I cannot imagine her going someplace else if she is not going to play. Absolutely they would. Again I think she won't come back because she is not 100% competitive volleyball healthy. She will have had over a year and a half to get D1 Volleyball ready. I will agree, as someone who was an athlete & tore an ACL, 1/2 of it is mental. The first time you take a full approach and swing is a big deal.

I ended up going through the same process trying to figure out who the best server was on the Iowa team last year and came to the same conclusion, that Buzzerio had the most aces, which to most folks would lead to the conclusion she was their best server. She would make the most sense for us as she is a natural opposite, hits lefthanded, puts up a big block and as a former setter is able to play right back when in the back row. I guess if this board is in agreement what is left? Can someone please call coach, tell him we've figured out the best fit for a new recruit and he should get right on it? Turns out that clue was referring to setter Jenna Splitt going to Butler University. I had hoped it was Buzzerio to Illinois- she'd be a great one year Cooney replacement on the right side.

I think staff is precluded from talking about transfers until they are enrolled. The way players instagram announce their transfer commitment I would be surprised if there are any transfers who will be attending second semester as no one has announced they are committed to U of I. Besides, my recollection is both Fleming and Nunge were much later in the process. I never understood how Mica Allison's transfer came about.

Apropos some of our earlier discussion about OHs for next year, look who appears to be leading the charge in the twitter post.

Apropos some of our earlier discussion about OHs for next year, look who appears to be leading the charge in the twitter post. Ellie is for sure playing next fall. I wonder if they wil ease her into it in the spring. Maybe just play back row? She could possibly play thru 2024 if given a year of medical redshirt.

Quite a grainy photo in the background behind Tamas- that looks like Sophie in the blue to me. Hope both she and Ellie are back in the fall and healthy to play. Spring scrimmages would be a window into how their rehabbing has gone. Some folks in the transfer threads have suggested that we might not see transfers announced until spring semester begins, which would (I think) allow them to remain under scholarship at their current schools for the entire semester. If they enter the portal before the semester begins, their current school could pull their scholarship. I know UIUC classes start Tuesday and I imagine it's the same for many schools. Might see a flurry of announcements after then.

Fairly certain that's Ellie (both face and physique resemble Ellie more).

I hope they are both having a good time, are healthy and will be ready to have fun playing next year.

Whether it’s Sophie or a Ellie, she looks fit and ready. Agreed, would like to see them both healthy and able to play.

With no transfers announced today it is doubtful anyone currently in the portal is about to commit. If someone goes into the portal after the semester starts do they keep their scholarship? Should we expect some new entries into the portal or will they wait until after the spring season? Are grad transfers waiting to hear if they have been admitted into a graduate program?
