I just got the email about purchasing the round 1 & 2 tickets that the Gopher is hosting! I just purchased mine in case you have not seen the email yet. In case you are curious about the ticket purchase timeline. "Gopher Volleyball season ticket holders with bench seats may now purchase up to 6 tickets for the 1st and 2nd rounds of the NCAA Volleyball Tournament at Maturi Pavilion during this exclusive presale. Only all session tickets will be available during the presale. Single session tickets will become available Monday, November 28th at 9:00am. Due to ticket requirements for participating teams, season ticket holders are not guaranteed their season ticket location for the NCAA Tournament games. Volleyball Season Ticket Holders: Wednesday, November 23rd, 1:00pm Gopher Score Members: Monday, November 28th, 9:00am General Public: Monday, November 28th, 1:00pm" Sigh. Premium seat holders will (presumably) be able to get their end-court/balcony seats, but unlike "regular" season ticket holders, we don't appear to have the ability to get any extra tickets. You can argue whether this is good or bad, but we should get the same access that Joe Chairback gets -- to purchase up to 6 all-session tickets (subtract off the number of end-court season tickets we have from that number). And if it's like last year, the only way we'll be able to get the end-court seats is by including the pre-match meal. Again, you can argue whether it's good or bad, but shouldn't we be able to say "no, I don't want to pay $$$ for the meal," and get normal session tickets at the same time other season ticket holders do? Whine/rant over.

OOPS it says we could buy up to 4!

Oh stressful, but got tickets after a few attempts and having to back out of the order once.

Yeah. On the plus(?) side, I did get an email about an hour ago for premium seats. They aren't doing pre-match meals this year, so we don't have to pay $$$ for the seat + meal, whether we want the meal or not. (To be fair, I'm not exactly thrilled with Pav concessions either but sister-JT can't always eat the provided meals during the season though, and paying for a meal you can't eat is hardly fulfilling.) And, as expected, there's no mention of being able to buy any additional seats. Better for the season ticket holders, but not really equitable since "normal" season ticket holders have more purchasing ability than us premium-seaters. C'est la vie... C'est la guerre... C'est la pomme de terre.

I had 4 tickets in my cart, until the seatmate got back to say she was out of town. I am guessing I can't get 2 more, since I was getting a promo code already used message already when I timed out waiting for a return text.

We will still be there!

Trouble Ahead? The Thanksgiving bracketology is just out
1 Texas 3 Stanford 9 Minnesota 11 Kentucky 8 Ohio State 6 Pitt 16 Marquette 14 Penn St. 13 Baylor 15 Rice 5 SanDiego 7 Wisconsin 12 Florida 10 Oregon 4 Neb 2 Louisville 2s (5-8) 3s (9-12) 4s (13-16)
Of course this is a very savvy analyst guesswork and he flip-flopped NEB and WI as the 4th seed Assumed, based on previous committee reveals that, as strong a case for a seed that San Diego has, they are going to take the B1G champ or co-champ as the 4 seed If WI loses to NE on Friday then we'd best beat them on Saturday & hope the committee chooses WI I'd much prefer WI as the 4th seed. I don't see one driveable match (<400mi) in any bracket quadrant?!
We drove to Austin in 2019 to watch the Gophers beat FLA and Louisville, and have friends to stay with, but I'd still prefer a regional final in Madison. The fans at the Gregory are f'n rabid.

Yes, I would prefer not to be slated to Texas either. They could flip Rice and Marquette to have a drive in for the Regional, based on your previous comment from the committee woman.

MN's takedown of the Buckeyes was worth a bump of 1 position in the figstats RPI fom 13 to 12
We're cemented in that 9-12 '3' seed status so it's a matter of whethere WI can get out of Lincoln with a win. If not and if MN doesn't beat NEB on Saturday it could very well be that NEB is the #4 seed and our future will run through Austin.
We can hope that WI knocks the stuffing out of NEB even if they don't prevail in 5 sets. Then MN can go into Huskerland and dash their top seed hopes.
btw, a great evening for MN particularly in serve receive
On the B1G VB wrap show Grace Loberg said the same and that Minnesota is unstoppable if they are passing well because their fast offense is impossible to defend.
CAVEAT: There is a distinct possibility that the 400 mi. travel adjustment may only apply to the first two rounds and that the tournament committee is disinclined to adjust 3 or 4 seeds, 9-12 and 13-16 to facilitate drive in. I will repeat the response I received from the tournament committee chair:
Yes geography continues to play a role, however, it is more limited. Each of the 4 1s (1-4) will play an 8 (29-32). If there is an 8 within 400 miles of a 1, they will be sent to that site. The same applies to each pairing 2s and 7s, 3s and 6s, 4s and 5s. So, yes, it applies to each group of 4.
If the tournament committee has stuck with it's earlier reveals then it IS likely we would be seeded in the 9 spot and be slotted for a return to Austin. It is entirely possible that the committee has no intention of putting us 11th for a driveable regional final in Madison assuming WI

The somewhat random nature in which the athletic department decides to sell postseason volleyball tickets is a head-scratcher. I am not a regular email user but fortunately decided to look at this thread and found out tickets were on sale for season ticket holders. Surprised I was able to get chairback seats being a couple of days late.
