Totally agree. The local coverage is nearly non-existent, with roughly 80% of the season's coverage coming when Hugh announced he was stepping down. Excluding Hockey, which has far fewer teams, Volleyball is by far the most successful athletic program at the U and should get media coverage nearly comparable to Nebraska's. Especially considering that volleyball is an increasingly popular sport. I challenge any twin cities media person to correctly pronounce "Wucherer" at a moment's notice. Heck, I challenge them to pronounce "Shaffmaster" correctly. I was in Omaha last weekend and their local sports news gave a couple of minutes coverage to both the Summit final and the Big East final AND recapped the Nebraska game as well. It would be great if the Minnesota volleyball teams got that kind of love. I would LOVE for more media coverage of Minnesota volleyball - but let's be honest. Nebraska only has college sports. So Nebraska media treats their college teams like Minnesota media treats their pro teams. College sports take a back seat - well except for football and men's bb when they're relevant. |

Your point is extremely true! I just expect more from Minnesota media than they’re willing to provide. Lack of coverage for the Girls’ State volleyball championships is another pet peeve. As many of those games that can be, should be broadcasted. Sorry everyone, back to the Gophers. |

Landyyyyy 4 life Anywho, I hope we go after Jess Robinson 👀 need a middle in addition to backcourt We still have a quality middle coming in for 2023. I think a good solid DS/Libero is what Minnesota needs most. Don't get distracted with all the other names out there and their flashy stats. |

Glad somebody's talking about her... she has absolutely had a significant impact and responded very well to have several new roles hoisted on her. |

I think they will probably need another middle. 3 seems a bit too thin in that position and for practice purposes too. |

Got my copy of Championship Behaviors today! Excited to read it and learn a thing or two 👍
And congrats to the awesome awards for CC, Landfair, Booth, Wucherer and Shaffmaster! They worked hard this year and earned it. Wenaas deserves utility player of the year for all the unsung effort she’s put into the team as well. Hopefully we keep this momentum going in the tournament. They have all the ability to reach the final four, just need to play their hearts out and believe it.
