I don't want to go out on a limb, but I'd bet the new coach will get more than the listed estimated salary of $47,000-$59,000.

Missing some zeros.. lol If you click in the “i”nfo link about the salary, it’s supplied by 3rd parties, and is supposed to reflect the average salary for this sort of position. I suspect that the avg D-I WVB (or maybe just avg collegiate WVB) coaches salary is down there.

Gophers are hungry. Get out of their way. I hope you’re right, MN/OSU has the most difficult (potential) road to the F4 at this point.

Comet suggested on the UNI game thread: "I think OSU is back to their mid-season form so it will be a tough match on Thursday. Gophers will need to be focused.
we are passing better digging better serving better blocking better setting better
which means tOSU will not be in system as much the OSU backcourt will be under greater pressure Rader & Powell will hot be able to key in on the pins
if we avoid those lulls and opponent service runs I expect to be watching a great battle with TX on Sat.
J. Moore is great...almost as good an undersized pin as Orzol but her cross court angles will be mitigated by long MB arms Gonzalez and Londot, if both are on fire, will make for a long scary match
the Buckeyes are two not so tough wins from a 4 match dis--integration(sic) I would not put any $ on an OSU victory

interesting article on Gopher VB finances, but I'm skeptical about the deficit numbers absent an explanation of how Big10 network revenues factor in. But the figures comparing Minn. with Nebraska and Wisconsin were interesting to me. As was the criticism of the Pav as a source of revenue, compared with Devaney. But, again, sports accounting is its own universe where the laws of physics and finances don't necessarily apply. No doubt Devaney offers opportunities for revenue boosting than the Pav doesn't. But the darn thing must have cost a pretty penny to erect, no? Are the construction costs amortized and factored into all that talk about how profitable Nebraska's program is? Article doesn't say. www.minnpost.com/sports/2022/12/with-a-powerhouse-team-and-strong-attendance-why-doesnt-and-how-does-minnesota-womens-volleyball-turn-a-profit/

I sometimes begin to wonder if playing such a tough schedules pays off in the RPI and seeding at the end of the regular season. Talk about ironic or not.......At the beginning of the season, I thought our schedule was noted the toughest followed by Ohio State and here we are again in the next round playing each other.

The 8/9 seeds usually have it this way, unfortunately. Basically even matchup between two good teams, followed by trying to take out the number 1 overall at home lol
