The good news on some level is that it will be on ESPN2 rather than ESPNU.

8 games all day long, so someone has to have the early ones. Yeah I got that, but are they all on ESPN2 and that's why they can't be at the same time?

Without making judgment on copyrighting violations (ESPN+) and unable to find an appropriate replay
Here is hoping that TayLa, one of her coaches, or one of her friends encourages copycatting Stanford's Kendall Kipp serve. I commented on this back in the preseason after MN beat Stanford.
Cue up to the 7:00 mark as Kipp goes on a service run.
KK starts her approach from further back: has slightly? better forward speed KK contact point is higher KK angle of attack is lower. KK service speed is higher The KK serve is tougher to pass (gauging downward trajectory and speed)
A a/set SE KK 43 .39 69
TL 24 .23 42
a/set is not nearly as valuable as the percentage of points you score on your serve, a stat that correlates with how adept your serving is to get opponents out of system to reduce their FBSOs. someone had that stat up recently: the per cent of time your team scores a point on your serve
I see no reason why TayLa could not emulate this template to become an even more dynamic 6 rotation stud. TayLa is an inch taller, but her contact point is inches lower. When you are blessed with elite height why not learn to take advantage of it?

WCCO had a feature on the 6:00 news on Gopher prep for Austin. They identified Arica as Naya. OOPS
"If everyone does their job, and we get all the recipe ingredients right, the cake is going to come out how it's supposed to. I think that applies to us, too. Like working our breath, working our routine, the little things are what's going to make the big thing happen." - A. Davis

It may well be that her serve would be more effective if she could elevate higher while serving. But I don't get the "I see no reason" part. Almost every player would be better if only she did this or that skill better. I assume she doesn't do it better at this point because she can't at this point. Maybe she'll get better over time and with practice; maybe not. Right now, Taylor is an effective server, largely no doubt because of her height, but doesn't look all that comfortable on the line. I assume she's doing the best she can for the time being and the coaching staff would prefer she serves in accordance with her current limitations and within her current comfort zone, and not pile up service errors in an attempt to reach some Kippean ideal.

Decades ago, when I was on the U of M club team, players were experimenting all the time behind the line to work on their serve effectiveness.
Major league pitchers are often changing their grip to see how a small change might work better.
Given that increased service pressure leads to lower passing grades by your opponent I fail to see any problem here. One of MN's areas for continued growth is tougher serving. They have been doing better as the season progresses. I suggest they could do more and it's NOT rocket science.
I'm not suggesting Wenaass revert to her jump topspin. Kilkelly has adjusted her technique to good effect.
Maybe it's too late in the campaign to expect small changes in MN's serving, but if we don't pressure good opponents we can expect them to complete FBSOs on too many occasions.
Low error VB is not a key to success in the NCAA tourney. Opponents in transition will happily take the tempo to win more points.

It seems like the coaches have already been working on this with her all season. Is it as wicked as Kipp’s? No, not yet, but she’s definitely improved in her contact point and approach. I’d imagine that next season we’ll see even more improvement. These ladies work their tails off in the off season tweaking technical changes like serving (point and case: Shaffmaster)

According to the email the gift goes towards: "Providing a best-in-the-country experience for our student-athletes is vital to the mission of Gopher Athletics. It helps prepare our student-athletes to perform at the highest level on and off the court. These pricing changes will provide much-needed support for our student-athletes by offsetting some of the rising cost of attendance and expanding vital services such as mental health assistance, nutrition programs, and academic support."
