in the off-season, someone on VT needs to watch the match, convert it to side out scoring, and tell the score and who one and how long it would have taken.

Leaving Rodriguez off this list is a crying shame Agree, but 2 factors: 1) NE DS's also play a big role and Akana and Knuckles both played big roles in the Final. 2) Roddy best performances IMO were vs TX and Pitt. She did well in the Final but not as well as those previous matches.

Good morning. My heart is full.
Huge shout-out to Nebraska. The Smalls - The floor was lava and they were keeping balls off of it all damned night. Kubik - 6-ro powerhouse Caffey - Quick on the quick (and the block, and the overpass kill) Hames - QB, putting hitters in good spots Stivrens - Senior leader, heart and fire
Well played, worthy adversary. Your future is bright.

I know I'm late, but I'm a Kayla Caffey fan now. She had no time for spoon-fed questions about how happy she was about whatever they tried to get her to say. Love the realness. No one "tried to get her to say" anything, they asked a question which is what happens in press conferences. And it was a perfectly reasonable question -- the reference was to her early hitting and the question was, what were you seeing, and what was it like going against that block? Sure she's upset, they all are. But if that's the way you're going to handle a question then maybe it's better to stay in the locker room. It has nothing to do with "realness". It has to do with stepping up and dealing with the situation, exactly like Cook and Stivrins and Hames did, in an extremely "real" and impressive way.

Mind blowing that Pitt took down Purdue, who beat Wisconsin twice. Have too that to my social media handles Civita was missing both matches. She isn't as important as Barnes, but she's pretty darn important Minnesota needs one too 😉

Madden is a special person. No need to reply. Caffey was embarrassing and while I understand it, her attitude and inability to get past herself have no excuse. I've seen tons of press conferences from losing teams, including from our players, and they still have grace and respect. There is never an excuse to be disrespectful. Even with the worst question you can reply in a way that doesn't make you and your school look bad.

I agree with what you are saying, and in a perfect world that would be the response that we hope our players would give. However, I know alot of incredible giving compassionate philanthropic athletes that are so competitive that they just need a moment to get things under control. She is obviously one of those and also deserves the kind of grace you are talking about just to get herself in a good place. Barraging them witih questions after a heartbreaking loss and expecting perfect gracious answers is just a little dumb.

Still digesting the game, WOW. Congrats to Wisconsin !! Thought Nebraska held up well and did a fine job against a very experienced and competent Badger team. Nebraska's resilience is incredible, and I credit John Cook for continually instilling this in his players. I hope to see Rettke representing USA volleyball soon.
On to next year. Have a wonderful holiday season all, and GO BIG RED !

If we would’ve had a Michaela Foecke?, game over. not if Wisky had a Carlini. We can play "what if" all day. I am sorry but Wisconsins love affair with Carlini is just old at this point. She was overrated thanks to you fans. Was she fantastic? Absolutely! Could she take a team to the promise land ? No...sorry. Just the truth. They had all kinds of talent. Whats the excuse.

not if Wisky had a Carlini. We can play "what if" all day. NE only had one reliable pin, Kubik. Freshman Batenhorst and Krause need further development, although Krause did pretty well at OP. Pretty remarkable NE hung in there with such low hitting percentages. True testament to their defense. WI block was a huge part of NE low hitting percentage. How the #$%^& do you hit vs a 6'8" and 6'9" well formed double block. Nebraska should be in the hunt for the next three to four years.

John probably should have had a chat with all of them before and shared that he understood their moods but they were representing their team and school. However, man can I understand how she felt in that moment.

Blurting out "is this over yet," was her egoic mind at work, which is essentially unconsciousness. Let's hope she's able to reflect on this.
