Nebraska and it's purely based on a vibe I've gotten from them this tournament (didn't watch any regular season games). I may be completely off base, but they just look like they are having a lot of fun on the court. That's it. That's my criteria.

The suspense is killing me. Everything is pointing to a Wisconsin win, but it just feels like the Volleyball Goddesses aren't going to allow another noob into the NC club after Kentucky did it last year. .  |

Nebraska. This is what I wrote previously in the match thread: I'm no big NEB fan, but as a Gopher fan who is going to be completely petty - I don't want Wisconsin to win a title before MN does - as tough as that may be to maintain given the strength of WI's program. If NEB wins, it's just a blue blood adding another title. So I'm rooting for the Huskers. That said, it's all "in good fun" pettiness. If WI wins the title, I will absolutely congratulate them and be happy for the program, the players, and their fans and give my traditional "Kudos!" to them. "All in good fun pettiness" is quite the phrase.  You done good. IMO VT needs more fun that is readily recognized as all in good fun. I don't see much value and little joy in comments that are only meant to demean or anger. |

I don’t like that wisco has so many “super seniors” kind of pisses me off actually. These husker freshman were never supposed to be playing against these players who are 5 years older than them. Yes I know other teams have benefited from the COVID year but I don’t care it’s my opinion. Imagine if Kentucky’s 3 seniors stayed !!! I just don’t see this year as a whole very fair but it’s okay. On the other hand, I would like to see them get their first natty, I just feel like loberg, rettke, Hilley, and Barnes have had their fair shots for 4 years and it didn’t work.
For nerbaska, I like this team more than wisco slightly but I’m scared that if this team wins, they’re gonna start a reign of terror on ncaa volleyball that Plummer’s class did at Stanford. And if I wasn’t a Stanford fan I would’ve been so annoyed so I’m pretty torn with all this. Go huskers i think ! Maybe !

BUT I have a slight but I think very rational fear that if wisco doesn’t win again that rettke and Hilley are somehow someway going to find a way to get another year of eligibility. Like leave !!

I will in no way be bitter if WI wins the title, even though I don't want them to for the aforementioned "petty" reasons. I will be happy for them. I guess it looks better if MN lost to the champion, but still, I'm wanting to see MN holding the trophy before WI. |

"Root" might be too strong a word. I'm pretty much indifferent to the outcome and just hope it's a tight, well-played match. That said, I have a favorite among all the players and that's Nicklin. She's been criticized a lot on this board and she's not very big, but the girl is a baller, for sure. She's like a combo DS-setter. Gritty as hell. And her eyelash game is second to none. So, I wouldn't mind seeing her do great out there tomorrow. Well-put. I'm a big Hames fan, too. I'm rooting for her to do well and that has me rooting for the Huskers today. My favorite Badger is Lauren Barnes, so I'm hoping she has like 40 digs today. Wouldn't be surprised if she did. |
