Who was the other starting middle? Rylee Rader (whose last name my computer hates and constantly autocorrects to odd things for some reason)... rising Junior. She was ACVA 2nd-Team All American... so she's pretty dang good and has two more years. So I could possibly see Davis thinking she is gonna limit her playing time (cause while I LOVE Davis, she doesn't have the consistency that Rader has... yet). Both our MB1 and MB2 get a bunch of court time (they both played 114 sets this year), our MB1 does see far more swings ( Rader went 297/605 and Davis went 174/343). Davis got used way more for her defense (Rader had 117 block contributions, Davis had 146) than offense. So if she wants to transfer because of playing time, I'd be really, really confused by it. just cause you’re not the middle that starts the game in the front row doesn’t mean you aren’t a “starter” I’d call all the players that play starters.

I mean... Yes... but she does get set far less in the offense. She's not announced at the start of games... she's not technically a starter. We all know that that is not how this works and Davis played just as much as Rader in 2021... but who knows. Again... I do NOT think that this is a problem at all, but I'm not her. We probably will have no idea until after the dust clears.

Yeah, she is the only one of the three portal players to get retroactively deleted from the 2021 roster.

Their names are always announced because they have to go on the court to begin the game and then they're immediately replaced by the libero. If anything, the libero isn't the starter... It's all kinda dumb, but if you look at play by plays the middles are always listed as starters and the liberos "sub in" immediately.

That's consistent with what I've seen over the years, but it raises a question: does that mean a substitute is counted against the allowed limit is used up right out of the gate?

Liberos don't count against the sub limit, so even if you run out of subs your libero will keep replacing the middles.

When they posted this one I had to do the ole Hanna Barbera double take, where you clean your eyes out with your fists between the first and second take.

Ohio State won 3-0 (17, 21, 19?(not sure of 3rd). Everyone played and they really changed lineups in sets 2 and 3. The big surprise to me was that Vanja Bukilic was there and played. I remember seeing she was transferring to NC State, but she seemed part of the team. Mia Grunze was not dressed, but out of the walking boot she was in during the tournament.
Starters for S1: Opp: Londot S: Podraza L: Murr OH: Gonzales, Moore MB: Rader, MacNeill DS for Moore: Taylor
Some changes I remember. White set the second, Taylor at L for the third. Rotated OHs, played Moore some at Opp and Londot at OH. Adria Powell was the 3rd MB

Alright, we'll get Bukilic back on the roster in the OP.
MacNeil would be an interesting twist. Senior that hasn't played much at all in the past. Lots of injuries, iirc.
