makes me wonder if the akana speculation coming home is truer than i initially thought. maybe RAM clearly laid out the planned for the opps to only play 3ro and we'll see an exodus of those wanting to develop all around. hope Leo lands somewhere good! was there really this speculation? i missed it, or haven't been paying attention. tough to transfer after your team just finished a finals-run. she was just a DS, but man, she played such a big role during the season and on a big stage this past weekend. she had some tremendous defensive plays to help keep nebraska in it. but i guess the flip side is that rodriguez has the libero spot pretty locked up for the next few years.

Remember back in November, when Robyn mentioned that she would not make any announcements on 2022 until after the Spring signing period. Wanted to make the announcement as a group thing. Robyn probably knew back then that a player(s) would transfer out. That she would have at least 1, or more scholarships to give out. Thinking right now, the one player that is in question is Akana. I can see her transferring, but to another school in Hawaii. None of us know what actually occurs in Robyn's office, and Robyn does not lead on to what does occur. But if you watch her player moves, she does give out subtle hints on what is actually occurring. So, we all must trust Robyn, to go after the Best available player(s) who want to come and play for the Wahine, finish out their career as a Wahine.

For some reason, I do not see Akana staying at Nebraska for a very long time. With Rodriguez being only a Freshman, and locking up the Libero spot. Akana could see less and less playing time with the kind of talent Nebraska can bring in. Unless Akana is Ok with just being on a Top team and not playing much, when she can go to another school and play a lot.

We are talking about Brae right? Lol I would think she would go to Chaminade.

Brae/Byrd might not be on scholarship going to next year for all we know. That leaves 2 transfers and that potential international middle?

I almost feel like Leo told the coaches she was planning on transferring early in the season and that’s why Robyn didn’t play her.. She has potential, wish her the best.. if you can’t be happy playing volleyball here then you don’t belong here..

I don't see Keonilei Akana coming back to Hawaii. No way! She is in the best place to play college vb. Their team is stacked. And she has a huge role in their success. Nebraska definitely utilizes her - she has aggressive serves where she can go on runs, passes well, and her defense is so phenomenal (as seen in the championship match). if Knuckles is gone, It will be her and Rodrigues manning the back.
The Akana thing was started in another thread where someone was throwing little hints and people were guessing- but it ended up being Leoniak.

Unless something bad happens team wise or personally there would be no other incentive to come home.

Thinking Akana could be a starting Libero on a lot of teams, especially Top Level teams.
