Wow š® bummer! This past season was weird. She was solid then suddenly yanked and played sparingly. Really didnāt think Westerberg did much to replace her. Must have been something internal cause something was definitely up. It is what it is. Moving on. I hope this will open up a scholie for a big impact transfer. As someone else said, if youāre not happy in Hawaii then you shouldnāt be here. Best of luck to her and Mahalo and Aloha!

Also wonder what Greta Corti is up to. She didn't seem to do a whole lot at Chaminade. Maybe she needs to come to UH since she has Hawaii ties anyways. Start up that Italian pipeline too.

First things first, Itās useless saying āI called itā about Leoniak. Unless you felt from the beginning she was not the type to want to fight for a position and work in the off season. That being said, I find it interesting that many here are saying she will land at a P5, she was not an unknown by US coaches, but she was mostly only recruited by mid majors. Iām pretty sure Hawaii was the best program that recruited her. Any way you slice it, if sheās willing to end it this early, I wish her the best wherever she lands. Now the topic of trying to pull an impact Outside Hitter is more of a possibility and there is less of a logjam now at Oppositeā¦kinda K. Akana aināt coming to Hawaii lol unless the push to make those freshman now sophomore pins into 6 rotation players ends up being what pushes her out. Knuckles could leave if she wanted and anyone would snap her or Akana right up but doubt Akana leaves, even with that. I think the entire universe is courting Skyler Fields and Iām not really sure what P5 has the opening for a 6 rotation player which is what sheās looking to become, so I think Robyn holds the scholarship open for someone TRULY impactful, not hopefully impactful and I donāt really think there are that many proven arms in the portal as of right now that would bring UH back to real post season contention. UH has the pieces to Dark Horse their way up there like the ACC teams, itās just a matter of whether or not Robyn can land that āimpact OH transferā everyone has been thirsting over.. And damn yāall I was so hopeful the 2021 thread would get to 300 pages lol we were so close š Well to defend my "I called it". There was a bit where someone poster was talking about players transferring out of the program. Then I went on to use "Leo" as example because she wasn't getting anymore playing time. Yes, it's all speculative and that's what makes it fun. Some of y'all are way too serious on here and need to chill the f out. I said what I said. Interpret however you would like itās really nothing to me.. |

Sad to hear about the Leo transfer, but yea known for a while. A bit surprising though knowing that she had a recent IG takeover where she basically advertised Hawaii and UH Manoa. Might be joining her friend at St. John's? How will the Polish pipeline look now? In a way, this could be a plus, with Leoniak deciding to transfer. It could even out the classes a little bit more. Of course it will depend on what class the new inbound transfer is. Thinking Robyn is probably looking at someone who will be a Senior, or graduate player, so she will then have 2 scholarships available for 2023, not just one.

honestly I dont know if fields would want to play for hawaii mainly because of the big west competition. I mean just very different. How does the big west compare to the big 12 in terms of competition like actually?

Leo wouldn't have made a good passer but I would've liked to see her at opp more. She hit some great D balls.
I like RW but her numbers really need to improve. Her kill rate and attempt numbers on tips were excruciating.
Lang's getting better at court awareness, if she doesn't get nervous stays calm she'll have fewer missed connections with her hitters.
Gutted BVS is gone.

How does the big west compare to the big 12 in terms of competition like actually? I would be downright sad for Fields if she did. The competition in the Big West or in any of the gyms of the Big West teams wont make her better. |

Tbh the Big12 isnāt THAT strong of a conference, in fact Iām sure it dwindles quite a bit after Texas leaves for the SEC and the Yossiana Pressley era ends at Baylor. But Texas does play in all the big time tournaments so I see her going to one of the schools where the first few tournaments of the season contain programs ranked in the Top 10. |

Itās not full of bad volleyball players but the conference does not play at the level that is needed to be competitive. Many of the matches look like bad high school games. Iām not saying itāll stay that way forever but thereās so much out of control including the money that doesnāt come in. Absolutely agree that Hawaii needs to schedule tougher to make up for the type of conference they are in. They also need to win those tough matches. Well, thatās if Hawaii wants to return to relevance. |

late to the party but like everyone on here, gutted on the leo news. however, i'm glad i got to see the potential she has to become an absolute beast of a player. i'm looking forward to seeing how she develops wherever she ends up playing  also, thank you Cubicle for starting this thread! |
