Benjamin is a stud! Best player to come out of A5 since Gabby Gonzalez (Ohio St) Wait a few years and you will see why all 3 UK coaches were living at the A5 gym Not sure if Gabby Gonzales' collegiate career is anything to be excited about. I don't know, she led Ohio State in kills and Ohio State was a top 10 team last year. Tell me someone better out of A5 in the last 10 years. I think Kentucky would sign her as a 6'3 6 rotation OH right now if they had the chance. |

Certainly, Gonzalez is one of the best out of A5 and can't think of another OH in the past 10 years that has sustained the type of consistency and production that she has. Benjamin certainly has a ton of upside and has earned this opportunity. The test will be if she can withstand the workload she is about to face over the next two years at A5. As with many OH's that come from A5 they flame out due to various reasons. Hence, why an obvious name does not pop up over the past ten years. ( I'm sure I missed one and someone will correct me). A5 is more known for producing middles, but more specifically Liberos and DS's (See Gabby Curry, Emily Dupes, on and on and on) Hannah coming from the 2's team last year was a huge blessing, first it showed her potential and upside. She really dominated the front row this year on the 1's team, but if you know this team, you know there is alot going on as it realtes to the front row offensively compared to defensively. There is a big disparity with tempo on the front row offensively, and Hannah certainly shines. A5 over the past 3 years has cultivated some extremely talented OH's that are about to hit the ground running over the next couple years. It will be interesting to see how productive they will be. (Jurnee Robinson is ridiculous, Cheridyn Leverette will be good as well on and on) |

She's homeschooled and doesn't play for a neighborhood school, correct? That might help ease her physical workload.

So the 2024 team will have Lamb, Melby, DeLeye, Benjamin and Thigpen at OH. If Williams, Dailey, and Bultema are MB's, should we be looking for another MB commit? Or is there a chance Benjamin slides in to MB or Thigpen plays an Azhani Tealer-type role inside?

Thigpen looks athletic enough to play anywhere. She’s listed as an OH/L so it will be interesting to see where she ends up. Wasn’t sure if we would have enough room for two pins with the limited scholarships, but seems like a pretty solid pickup for the cats.

Benjamin & Thigpen as future pins are nice additions for Kentucky. |
