The University of Pittsburgh is looking for
a Volunteer Assistant Volleyball Coach. Interested candidates should send a resume to assistant coach Kellen Petrone at kpetrone@athletics.pitt.edu
Please label Subject Line "Volunteer Assistant Candidate".
Under head coach, assist in all aspects of the volleyball program including but not limited to the following:
- Promote student-athlete and team performance through on-court coaching, skill development, preparation, and video analysis.
- Utilize DataVolley/VolleyStation
- Assist in formulating scouting reports, statistical breakdowns, and opponent video breakdown.
- Assist in the on-campus recruiting of prospective student-athletes.
- Work in connection with Director of Volleyball Operations in team organizational aspects including travel, scheduling, and day-to-day functions of program.
- Other duties as assigned by head coach.
Preferred Qualifications
- High level playing experience.
- Previous coaching experience.
- Self-motivated and proficient in managing schedule and responsibilities.
- Experience with DataVolley and DataVideo software.

Interested in thoughts on this upcoming season’s lineup, haven’t followed Pitt much but fans of players that have chosen to transfer there (Grey, LMM, Buzzerio).
I know the 6-2 is Pitts MO but is there any possibility of a pure 6-2 happening this season with Buzzerio/Fairbanks or is Akeo a lock?

IMO, Buzzerio would have given up setting long ago if not for the need at Iowa. She's a really impressive RS and it would be good to see her play six ro's as an oppo. |

Do not think they would've brought in Buzzerio not to hit....Akeo got a lot better last year |

They should go 5-1 with Fairbanks and have Buzzerio be a 6 rotation opposite, sorry Akeo🫣

Buzzario is not a pitt caliber setter. They are a top ten team almost undoubtedly. Buzzario isn’t a setter capable of running that kind of offense. Shes a wonderful opposite attacker though |

Pitts been great recently but don’t think it’s anything that’s established about their storied history of top tier setters. But yes, Buzzerio is an amazing opposite. I just feel like she needs to be on the floor for 6 rotations in some capacity. Would be a downgrade to be 3ro for Akeo, especially if she’s capable of running just as good of an offense. But Akeo has been there, so I guess it is what it is. |
