I would LOVE it, if Coach Katie can go get TTA from Northwestern. I can see our Lions being an Elite 8 team if they are able to get TTA. Wishful thinking? Can't you recruit at PSU? Wishing for transfers is pathetic js. I have zero respect for the PSU fan base. Not going to sugacoat it. You are an embarrassment to the B1G. |

Anyways… interested to see how the setting situation will turn out next season and the one following. I think Hurta could earn the starting spot. PSU also has Izzy Starck coming in 2024. I know with transfers it’s really hard to predict things for the next season let alone two seasons from now, but could be interesting to see how those two are used especially considering they are both S/RS. Also important to know that Hurta did not redshirt, she played in some sets early in the season.
I’m really happy about the way PSU has benefited from the portal. This team would have struggled without the portal, and I’m pleased with KSC’s ability to fill the holes in the lineup with transfers. In this day and age of college volleyball, you aren’t going to get by without using the transfer portal. There are exceptions like Stanford, but almost every single team left in the elite 8 has benefitted immensely from at least one transfer.

I mean I wouldn’t write off any team getting her until some rumors come out about where she’s visiting, but PSU was so close to being an elite 8 team this year that I don’t think it’ll take TTA to get there. I honestly think they could get even farther than that if they got a player like her. |

Penn State having and benefitting from transfers is no different than Wisconsin, Texas, San Diego, Pittsburgh, etc. That said, with Penn State's roster having been depleted during the coaching change, Penn State has especially needed transfers this year, and possibly also for next year since PSU's c/o 2023 high school recruiting efforts got disrupted with RR's retirement. Fortunately, KSC has a good start to building their c/o 2024. |
