St John's is a mess. They just blew a 2-0 lead to Fairfield. I know Fairfield isn't some really awful team, but, St. John's has a lot to improve on. Their rover defense also drives me nuts because.. it's not working. St. John's digging is terrible and I'm not sure their defensive system is doing them any favors. They've got two more weeks to get it back on track. Their upcoming schedule should allow them to work on things before they get into conference play. - Southeast Louisiana - Bryant - Stonehill - Columbia - Boston College - Middle Tennessee

So the very basic answer is Right back defender roams the 10 ft line. So instead of right back standing right behind right front and middle when the opponent's OH is attacking they roam laterally around the 10 ft line to pick up tips from all attackers. . Attachments:

More digs will be coming over their shoulder from right back or they are having to back peddle if the are coving tip behind left front from balls dug from left back. Setting is tough enough without having to be on the move constantly

How the heck does a Peruvian end up at IWCC She played for Peru in the U18 and U20 WCH and Pan Am Cups. Im surprised a D1 coach didnt see her there (unless English was the problem like Miyabe) As far as I know, her English is pretty good.

I don’t know of a top club team that wouldn’t smash them. It’s pretty bad and having followed them for the last several years I can see that they are not putting their best players on the court. The back story is that coach JoJo plays favorites with some of the European players and only trains and focuses on certain individuals. She has very good players on her bench that she does not use. Until then, we can continue to expect to see the same, losses. A very very bad season is about to take place.

This is a 6-up defense or to go old school Red Defense: made popular by the soviet unions womens teams coached by Nikolay Karpol: he won alot of medals using that defense: still see it used by A small number of club teams. Not as tough on the setter in transition as you are making out with your unfamiliarity with this defense!

I would be plenty happy seeing Creighton and Marquette split with one another and run the table on everyone else. While the BE is a grind with the travel and that possibility is not to be taken for granted, it is looking like more and more of a possibility.

Interesting, we’re using a defense sometimes still seen at the club level at the D1 level. Well that kind of makes sense why they get beat repeatedly, using a defense no longer effective in a game that has evolved in strategy since then.

I don’t know if it properly prepares them for the tournament.
