Two matches with the potential to be good this afternoon -- Middle Tennessee vs Saint John's and Kansas State vs Creighton. They do need to get it together but they won’t as long as they continue to come out with the same old game plan and line up. St. John’s is just scratching by these teams. They have better talent on their bench, but they refuse to use them. No chance in hell at Winning the Big East, not by a long shot. Disappointed to see what’s become of the St. John’s program. The school really needs to look into this. They’re so bad, their games are free and still can’t get a real crowd in the arena. Somebody do something Two teams in the Big East have a "chance of hell at winning the Big East". Creighton and Marquette. Those are also the two teams that pour the most resources into the program. If you think that the St. John's Administration should "look into this", what exactly is "this"? The fact that they're 9-4 overall in the pre-season? The fact that they've won 6 games in a row, including games against Middle Tennessee State and Boston College (two teams that have a combined record of 21-5)? Sounds like you are someone with ties to a player on the bench, thinking your DD should be playing more over someone in the starting lineup.

Coach Jojo seems like a stubborn woman, very set in her ways. She definitely likes the big powerful Italian and European girls over the quicker American kids. But she has also shown that she can take a team to the NCAA's and seems to be well respected by her peers. St Johns also isn't going to fire someone who has been there 20 years. So this is really a moot discussion.

While it's true most years, I think it's especially important this year for Marquette and Creighton to sweep the other teams in the Big East. I'm not sure either deserve a regional host this year (or will get one), so the best chance is them taking care of business in the regular season and to the victor in the regular season and conference tourney, goes the spoils.
That said, go Jays! (Though they have not been played cleanly lately). Hopefully they figure it out before 10/14. Need another threat so teams can't sellout on Sis all the time. Even with Davis, teams only had to sell out on Sis and Davis. Hopefully Jazz's return gives them another legit threat to keep teams (a bit) more honest.
I'm not a betting man, but today 9/22. I'd bet Marquette. Ask me again after this weekend, things can and will change (not sure if better or for worse).

I wonder what happened to Nova the last few years. They were a pretty decent team for a number of years and reliably the 3rd or 4th best team in the league for a during that time.
