Kalen Owes? Her parents were both wildcats. Did we even try to recruit her out of high school? Would be weird to not be able to capitalize on that connection since her parents are alum. Rita doesn’t seem to be following her on Instagram if that means anything. Which it doesn’t hahahahah She was the #11 senior ace coming out of HS. It's doubtful that Arizona didn't recruit her hard.

What about Jahara Campbell? Colorado is loaded with pin talent and she’s been buried on the depth chart.

I thought she had medically retire. But I might be wrong. It would be nice if she does come back. She was never a main stay in the lineup for USC, any insight on why?Especially before Wilson and Fields showed up? Pretty sure she was injured a lot! Her passing also never seemed to get good enough to play all around.

I don’t have inside knowledge but she seemed somewhat disconnected from the team and may not have been 100% for some of her time. When she did play it was a little up and down, IIRC.

Wilson/Hodge Johnson/transfer Maldonado Diaz/Heath Morse
could be a fun little team to watch. a lot of offensive firepower from literally everyone. defense, passing, and blocking wouldn’t be good, but there’d be some bombs on offense lol, even from Heath
a 6-2 could be fun. add in either Stubbe or Heath as the other right side and Tortorello or Rosenthal as the other setter. might run into sub problems like Nebraska did occasionally as we’d likely need to DS one of the outsides, but I don’t think a 6-2 is in question tbh.

A 6-2 would make me nervous for a couple of reasons. Like you said, our pins aren’t the best passers so ds subs would be ate up quickly. Also, of the three setters on the roster none have run an offense during the season at this level. So trusting two of them to get it done makes me nervous.

Interesting since she's a hometown girl and might have a shot as a MB. If the rumors about additions are true, though, it might have motivated her to move on because the pins are going to be crowded

I hope she’s able to go somewhere where she has a shot on the pins. maybe a NAU or GCU if she wants to stay close. hell even ASU has like three outsides on the whole roster

I finally got to talk to Rita and the two new assistant coaches today. Will have something written in the next day or two. Most interesting thing was that although they have been friends for years, Dietre wasn't on Rita's initial mental list for hires. She said that she thinks the women's game is going to follow the men's game, so she really wanted someone with a background in men's volleyball. That was one reason she hired Ryan Windisch.

I liked the Dietre hire. she’s incredibly intelligent and has watched the team a lot this past season. she knows what these girls can do. great personality as well. it also gives Rita a sense of familiarity on the staff right off the bat. and Rita’s right about the game following men’s, at least looking at high level women’s play.

Rita made it clear that Ava is no longer a setter. I mentioned Ava when asking about setters, and she stated that she was only a DS now. I thought the roster had her as setter/DS, but that's apparently not a thing. Ana and Kasen are the only ones she considers to be setters. From what I overhead Ava say at spring ball, I kind of had that impression already, but Rita confirmed it yesterday.

Hey, friends! Arizona is coming to Wisconsin this fall! They'll play the Badgers on Thursday, September 7 and the Miami Hurricanes on Saturday, September 9. uofaGRAD - If you can break away from the team, the first round's on me.
