Another one of these.I wonder if they've mutually agreed to part ways? I know Rita said that when Zyonna was trying to decide if she wanted to come back, they sat down and talked about what she absolutely didn't want to do if she returned and what the coaches absolutely required of her if she returned. The thing she absolutely didn't want to do? Run shuttles. The coaches had to decide if that was a breaking point for them for her to decide she just didn't want to do training that everyone else was required to do. Perhaps the sides couldn't agree on must/won't aspects of returning. I haven't seen anything from Sofia, but I haven't looked closely. I have been focused on recruits. http://instagram.com/p/C0caxnPyQc9

If Sofia does end up leaving hopefully Rita can put her scholarship to good use.

I asked Arizona about those posts. They said the decisions by Sofia and Jaelyn have not been made. They're just doing them for seniors whether they continue or not.

I talked to Cursty (Jackson) Le Roux yesterday about her year on the Texas volleyball staff. Also talked to Dave about her time playing at Arizona. I didn't start covering the team until after she was gone, so I had never talked to her. She's great. So open and friendly. Dave loved talking about her and Jerritt Elliott. We talked for like 20 minutes, so the article is kind of long.

i love Sofia to death, as a player but even more as a person, but it might honestly be best for both parties to move on. we need to start Carlie day 1 whether she’s ready for it or not tbh. Carlie/Jordan/Jaelyn should be our pin trio. Sofia returning pushes one of those three out of a spot. the only options I see are a 5-1 where one of the pins is pushed out (not even gonna guess who), or a 6-2 where Carlie and Jaelyn are the 6ro pins since their passing is better than the other two. that means Sofia plays 3ro which doesn’t help her pro aspirations. I guess the asterisk here would be if we want to give Carlie’s hand some more time to recover and we lib her a la Nuneviller her first season since we don’t have one with experience. but I’d rather her get used to a college block sooner rather than later. I’d rather use Sofia’s scholarship on an impact middle or lib

Sofias defense and our team’s inability to hide her during serve receive really does make it hard to play her. Az desperately needs help in the middle plus a libero, and if Sofia loses her spot then so be it. This team hasn’t made the tourney since 2018 and running it back with the same exact players is a mistake. Plus, putting all of our serve receive and defensive issues on one miss Carlie Cisneros isn’t fair. Did we ever get any info that Jaelyn is going to have surgery on her foot? The same injury has put a damper on her two seasons in a row now.

Does anyone have any leads on who Rita wants to hire to replace Deitre? It’s been a couple months since the ASU game and nada. No new coach, no incoming transfers, what is happening?

The job posting was taken down weeks ago. Hopefully she gets it filled soon. I have my doubts about there being much transfer news, but they were supposed to be back at work yesterday. Hopefully they get a 3rd AC soon.

Hopefully they get a 3rd AC soon. I know that allegedly the financial issues with the school have nothing to do with sports, but would Heeke withdraw the 3rd coaching position? Or do you think it was withdrawn simply because someone was hired and just not announced for whatever reason?
