Penn State will hire a coach and west coast people will say how lame State College is and that they can't believe someone would live there. Ouch! That's harsh!* I'm not saying it's lame. It's just the California people think if the temp dips below 50 a place becomes uninhabitable. Not that earthquakes, smog, traffic and high prices are uninhabitable or anything.

A few years ago, I visited her in December, and she apologized for how "cold" it was, as temperatures were in the 60s.

And anyways, Californians can usually handle a little cold. It's the Floridians who can't.

As a former east coaster now living in SoCal, I prefer my cold weather when it's a choice, rather than a constant. I have become West Coast Wimpy since I moved here. And there is not enough money in the world to make me want to ever live in the midwest again (or Florida).

I know a lot of people from California, and I don't think they're any better at handling it than the Floridians I know.

I was dating a girl from LA for a few months that I met when I was out there visiting my sister. She always wanted me to send pictures of the snow and would go on and on about how much she loved snow. And my response was something like, "You live in LA. You only see snow once or twice a year when you seek it out by going to Big Bear. If my relationship with snow was like that, I would like it too. But unfortunately, the snow doesn't stay in the mountains here. It comes to the valley too, and scraping my car every morning gets really old." At least now, I have a covered parking spot, so I solved the latter issue.

It's called West Coast smart, but we don't sell it that way because it is already crowded enough. We like to tell the midwest; "Oh my God, look out behind you, it's a big scary earthquake all on fire with no water to put it out", he he he, are they gone yet?

Water won’t be a problem in SoCal after last week. But shhhhhh, don’t tell anyone…
