Don't call me for sympathy when you're in intensive care begging for the vaccination so you don't die. Well Stevie boy I am vaxxed, hasn’t stopped COVID, the Polio vaccine did, poor analogy. Clearly you don't understand science.

You know...maybe an anti-vaxxer club is not a bad idea. At least you know who to avoid at tournaments.

Polio was mostly* stopped by the vaccine, and several DECADES of nation- and world-wide vaccination efforts. * It's still present in a couple countries, and (sigh) anti-vax sentiments have caused the number of cases in those two countries to rise.

Will it still be an issue in 2-5 years? I would like to think it might not be. Regardless of the situation, I don't see colleges rolling back vaccine requirements The next thing you know they will require vaccinations for Polio, Measles, Mumps and Chicken Pox before entering school.
Oh my god, what a bleeping nightmare!!!!

You know...maybe an anti-vaxxer club is not a bad idea. At least you know who to avoid at tournaments. I for sure would like to avoid these parents. But if they aren't going to tournaments or qualifiers, they'll likely just be gathering in their "safe spaces" burning banned books together. So I feel like I won't really cross paths with them anyways.

You know...the name with the Mockingbird. Wait no, not MockingJay, Mockingbird. You know what? Nevermind. They both work."

This is a good way to put your girls at a significant college recruiting disadvantage. Having an unvaxed kid on a college roster is so difficult that if I knew ahead of time they were not going to get vacinated, I would not recruit them at all. My son has myocarditis from the COVID vaccine and we are getting a settlement. That all sounds well and good but his heart function will never be normal again. He will not be playing college basketball anymore. So my daughter is not getting the vaccine. We would just prefer like-minded people because our current club team has a surgeon and some other wiseacres that want to lecture us about the need to be vaccinated like they are some kind of authority on it. If we don't play club next year that's OK too. She's 6'1" and well known and heavily recruited so I'm sure we can get a waiver from somebody. The waiver is the easy part. It's the travel that's the issue, plenty of schools aren't accepting other school's waivers, so unvancinated players aren't allowed to travel.

I’m sympathetic to you. I really am. I’m heartbroken for your son. That’s a tough pill to swallow. At the same time, it’s simply impractical to think your daughter is going to play organized sports at the collegiate level without being vaccinated. You’re in a dream world if you think that’s going to happen. It’s okay to live in a dream world, but it’s a bummer you’re giving your daughter false expectations. That said, if you have legitimate reasons not to want your daughter vaccinated, I commend you for at least trying to figure out a solution until she’s older. However, the reality is parents of other players are not going to want to have their children on the same court with your’s. It doesn’t matter that the likelihood of a contagion being passed across the net on a volleyball court isn’t high. No one wants to take chances. I consider this a Quixotian campaign. I wish you luck. I have no doubt you can find like minded players and parents to form a club team with enough energy, resources, persistence, and money invested. What you won’t be able to do is find enough opponents or organizers willing to take a chance, either based on personal beliefs or because of pressure. And it will impact your daughter’s potential options. Probably severely, even if she’s exceptionally talented. If someone is telling you different they have an agenda.

There are plenty of universities that don’t require vaccination from students. universitybusiness.com/state-by-state-look-at-colleges-requiring-vaccines/

Any 17s parents interesting in forming an unvaxxed club team for girls' club volleyball next year? They keep sending us to cities where it's a living hell for a kid to be un-covid vaxxed. I've got four good players but obviously need more. Some are interested but they are trying to stay within existing clubs. We have to rent the gym, pay a coach, all that jazz and it's a harder experience than a regular club. Our club basically told all of us that our concerns about the vax were unsubstantiated and we can lump it if we don't want to go to the northeast for a tournament this year (Philly). Why they even scheduled that one is beyond me except that it's known as an easy qualifier. You can call it Idiot Jrs,
