I take it you're referring to Genny Volpe at Rice? That would be interesting, as she's shown she can be successful at an elite academic school. No. But she’d be great!! Hmm, interesting. Not sure who you were talking about then. Though Volpe seems to have spent her whole life in Texas.

Anyway, I didn't know much about Katelyn Harrison, but she does seem like a good candidate. She had a good record in her previous stop at College of Charleston, and she's already in Nashville. And it's hard to see how Vanderbilt wouldn't be a better job than Belmont in every way imaginable, so she'd probably take it if offered. It's possible Vanderbilt thinks that there may be an even better candidate out there, but Harrison definitely looks like a solid bet. Belmont has had a losing conference record 4 times since 2003. Three of those seasons were Harrison’s three seasons. I don’t know her. She might be a great person. But she’s been very unsuccessful so far at what has to be the nicest campus in the coolest city in the OVC. Hmm, she's only been there since 2019. The season before she took over, Belmont went 5-23. So she's clearly in the middle of a rebuild. If this was her first head coaching job, I'd probably agree with you, but her tenure at College of Charleston was pretty good. On the surface, I'm a little surprised that she left College of Charleston for Belmont, as that seems like a lateral move, but I have no idea what the factors in her decision were.Edit: I misinterpreted her Belmont bio, as it just says she was at College of Charleston, but it didn't note that she was an assistant.

I am willing to bet he is referring to Brandon Rosenthal at Lipscomb, who has turned down bigger jobs to stay in the area before. I was wondering how long it would take before someone stated the obvious. I mentioned it a while ago, on page 3. I thought I either heard him say or maybe it was hearsay, that the only job he would leave Lipscomb for is Vanderbilt.

Not saying he would or wouldn't leave for that job, but that's absolutely a joke he would make.

And even if he meant it at the time, things change and he could’ve easily changed his mind. Winning is fun, going into a program you know you’ll be losing a good amount of matches, at least in the early years, isn’t appealing to many.

A Facebook friend of mine posted yesterday, about her daughter playing in a beach tourney, against commits to various schools. One being a 2023 commit to Vanderbilt indoor, who grew up playing beach in California. Not sure how that could be possible, since they have no coach yet.
