Good question. That sequence of events makes sense to me. Last year, the Big Ten Network made an announcement on August 10. I always look for TBA's and Wednesdays for as likely TV games. Fridays and Sundays are possibilities as well. Saturday can't be ruled out either. I didn't look at other team schedules, but last season Nebraska had 5 Saturday night matches on BTN. My understanding is that the BTN tried to capitalize on the popularity of football by having volleyball matches after football games. Seems smart to me.

Early in the season, B1G football teams are more likely to play night games (and there's a limit to how many any one team can play). But once you get near or to the end of October, the night football games go away and the schedule opens up for Saturday night VB.

There are 6 Football games on a typical Saturday once conference play starts. With ESPN, Fox Sports and BTN showing B1G games, there are more Saturday slots available than one might think.

So...then, once the B1G Volleyball schedule is out, when will BTN release the volleyball programming schedule for autumn?
I am assuming they go back, black out any football dates that compete, black out any basketball dates that compete, and then decide where volleyball fits...right? Good question. That sequence of events makes sense to me. Last year, the Big Ten Network made an announcement on August 10. Now that you mention it, I would think they'd work faster and announce the BTN schedule during the Aug. 1+2 Media Days for volleyball. That would only increase the hype!

So according to this poll the results would be: Nebraska Minn Wisc Ohio St Purdue Illinois Penn St —drop Mich St Michigan Maryland Iowa Rutgers Indiana
Tagging this to see how close Vtalk world can predict.

I could also see Nebraska just not winning. they got hot for 3 games at the end of last year, they didn't play like that for the entire season leading up. pin production is still a huge question mark for me with Nebraska. they didn't have it pretty much all season last year

Far from just hot for 3 games.

I agree about Nebraska. Losing a Strivins, a key DS and setter questions put them at #3 or #4 in my book.

I agree about Nebraska. Losing a Strivins. If only they had some sort of adequate replacement

Agreed, serving and defense should be fine. She seems to have a lot of natural skills, hopefully that will help her be a good passer as well. Having Nicklin as well as Lexi as OOS setters will be nice.

In my experience, being good at other aspects of the game like defense, serving and OOS setting doesn't necessarily correlate to being a good passer. I'm not saying she can't pass. I have no idea. Just that I've seen a number of players who were good at those other things but not good at passing.
