I heard Kelly might be leaning toward Princeton I heard that Princeton is one of the more academically rigorous of the Top 10 schools One of the lowest acceptance rates in the country. 2021 was 4% of all applicants. 2022 some believe it was 2% of all applicants. Good for him and hopefully he gets his choice if that is where he wants to go. They unlike other schools don't lower their standards for athletes.

Yep, there are a handful of schools out there where it's basically, "we like you, you have a place on the team if you can get admitted to the school." For kids that can get into those schools, they have to decide if volleyball is really what they want to do in/after college. Because if they have the academic creds to get into those top level schools, they are going to have more academic money thrown at them than they will ever get from the athletic money on the men's v-ball side. Especially since Ivy's don't off any athletic money. They also have their pick of pretty much any school across the country, and a lot of the big named academic schools don't offer v-ball.

Tbh, I have a feeling Kaumana is holding for another specific school he wants. Cause it's in the stars already aligned for him to come to Hawaii but he has yet to commit. So we see. He is the grandson of the Queen of Makaha Ala Rell Sun. RIL. Probably Stanford. It will allow for him to stay home and also get a degree from that institution. Maybe his family told him he doesn’t have to commit early because if he did and he broke that commitment, it would not be a good look so he is holding off until he is 100% sure. He does rep Hawaii well. He has a few pictures in his IG where he was wearing UH shirt so he knows that UH wants him. If Stanford offers, he will probably be gone. Also, if Kaumana decides not to come, do we go after Reed Wainwright or we go look elsewhere? BTW….saw Justin Todd at the Wahine game the evening. He was shopping for gears at the H-Zone. Spot on with your prediction on Kaumana, Brooselee!

Wow, USC is gonna be loaded with talent in the coming years They already are loaded with talent. They just have a coaching staff that doesnt do much with it or improve the pieces around it.

They aren’t in same level at talent as Ucla, Hawaii and long Beach and then when you take coaching and development into account, although not as much in Long Beach. I feel bad for Team USA for Smith and Foley to be stuck at USC.

Best of luck to Christian! Would've been a baller at Hawaii. But all good! Both him and Foley there....hopefully that coaching staff can get it's act together. They got some gamers headed to Trojan-ville!

Very true. One of the worst setting situations in the four major conferences. When your pins are Klein, Kobrine, and Gallas and you are sitting in last place in the MPSF, something is just wrong. Maybe a new coach could snag a new setter?

I wouldn't blame it all on the setting. Not sure the passing is great. Kobrine on the left is an issue - not the best passer. SC is out of system alot.

Are you guys discounting Caleb Blanchette? He was the first USC commit listed in this thread.

I was just confused because you guys are in a 2024 recruiting thread saying USC needed to pick up a setter. They have, he's on the 2nd page of the thread.
