So, the 18s NQ's are done with 6 At-Large bids up for grabs. Any prognostications? Off the top of my head, here are some of the teams that I think will definitely be in consideration for the at-large spots (in no particular order): NPJ (did they earn a bid in Spokane?) Legacy 18-1 Adidas NKYVC Rockwood Thunder 18 Elite MiElite NO NAME MADFROG 18's N Green AJV These three should be in for sure… HJV 18 Elite Legacy 18-1 Adidas Madfrog 18 N Green Not so sure about the others you listed. But wouldn’t be surprised if the other three end up coming from your list as well.

Anyone have any idea when Windy City schedule will be posted? We’ve gotten a little spoiled with schedules and seeds being posted earlier than normal this season. Hoping Windy City follows that trend!

Hoping Windy City follows that trend! My guess is you will not see it until Wed, I am sure there are teams playing this weekend that will also be in Chicago and depending on how they do it will factor into seeding.

Exactly! If a middle is the kills leader that is one hell of a setter. Oh dear, not this. It literally takes years to de-program setters from the mindset that setting the middle is making the "good" set. Nobody said setting the middle was "Making the good set" However when we are discussing a team that won a 17 open tournament without dropping a match (and then won nationals later that year) with a middle leading them in kills, I think you can go ahead and admit that the setter was "making the good set" under these specific circumstances.

What is the weakest USA region? Does every region get an automatic bid into the lower divisions? I know Patriot is pay and you're in, but I mean the other divisions like National, Liberty, etc.

I know Patriot is pay and you're in, but I mean the other divisions like National, Liberty, etc. Bids are done by region size at the lower levels..for example, Texas and Ohio have the largest participation numbers so those regions get two National level bids while most others get one. Think maybe top 8 regions get an extra bid and then the next level it’s allocated even lower. After the fact usav may take back a bid and give it to the strongest region that want it.

I know Patriot is pay and you're in, but I mean the other divisions like National, Liberty, etc. The highest ranking regional team/s (or 2) that does not earn an Open bid will get a National bid to the GJNC. From the Manual;
National Division: Each Region will receive at least one (1) National Bid to award at their discretion for the 13’s – 18’s. As there are a total of 48 Bids to be allocated to 40 Regions, the eight (8) largest Regions based on Girls Junior registrations from the previous season will be awarded a 2nd Bid to the National Divisions at the GJNCs. For 11s, and 12 ‘s, the original allotment of Bids and any reallocation Bids a Region receives depends on the number of 12 and under Girls Junior registrations from the previous season, not on the total number of Girls Junior registrations in the Region. Given there are 40 USAV Regions and only 36 National Bids allocated to Regions not all will receive an allocated Bid. Regions not receiving an automatic Bid will be prioritized in the process of reallocating unused Bids

Thats true on how the allocate the bid numbers but thats not true that the highest ranking team that plays open will get that bid. Here is how Lone Star does it. They have a regional tournament in that the top 50 teams are invited to based on the regions rankings in early May and the winner and runner up gets the national level bids. I have seen teams that played american all year long win that tournament and get a national bid while teams that played open all year long but did not qualify end up with an american bid from the region.

How does the at-large bids for Open or USA or Liberty distributed at the end of the season? Is it based on how teams have finished in their qualifier (ie. if a team has just missed out on a bid but is always in the gold bracket will get an at-large bid) or is it more complicated than that.
