All of the US hitters are good/great. It's hard not to be when Reilly is basically serving them the ball on a plate with a fresh sprig of dill on the side.
I watched the U18 games last summer (or whatever they're called now) and the Choboy-Reilly connection is amazing. It's like Reilly knows she doesn't have to move and can take a second to think about where the ball should go.

Meh, at this point I don't think she's any better than Blayshov, as far as 6 rotation OH's are concerned for 2023. As far as potential for all 2023's, I'd put Jackson above both of them. 2023 is a great class. No doubt about that one. Will be years before we can make a comparison, a lot can happen, but, a class to equal the much vaunted 2005 class (Larson, Akinradewo, Spicer, Harmotto, Fawcett, Barboza, Miyashiro)?

Every time Stafford comes in on the right, she gets multiple kills. I've been impressed with her when she's got her chance.

Murray is really special... Can someone list the past #1 recruits of the last 10 years or so. Meh, at this point I don't think she's any better than Blayshov, as far as 6 rotation OH's are concerned for 2023. As far as potential for all 2023's, I'd put Jackson above both of them. I think there are 5-6 top pins in the 2023 that are interchangeable. They are all that good. Pins like Chicoine stand out for what she can do at her size but the Murray's, Harveys, Blayshov's are all the same level IMO and from watching them play/develop. I feel like I read a lot of hype for some other OH's and then never heard about them in college. It will be interesting to see what they can do in college when they aren't THE stud. And I agree with the Jackson comment. I had never heard of her before she committed. Never seen her play. Her ceiling is so high I wouldn't doubt she is an all american by the end of her college career.

Canada looked better against Costa Rica. Hopefully they can dig deep and beat Mexico.

NORCECA is using stats to determine the "best" players again
so USA will get left out of the awards again :/

I think that the casual volleyball fan will just *assume* that because certain players are selected to these underage national team events (which is huge exposure) that they must be the best in their class - that is a faulty assumption. I think it's fair to say that those players who make these teams are elite prep talent, no doubt, but they aren't the ONLY elite prep talent out there. It's not a given that they will have big college careers and it's certainly not a given these are the only players that will have big college careers. A big chunk of the All Americans are players who were never even invited to train with the national team in their prep years and it seems like every year we see big time NCAA players that were passed over in their prep years. These USAV teams have agendas, even with the players they invite to train. Take Mullen and Spears, for example. Certainly they are great players for 2025, but they are NOT the best OH / RS U19, not even close. The USAV stuff then gets compounded with the posters here on volleytalk and Nebraska and Texas fans (whether you like it or not) are currently the biggest and most vocal here on the board, naturally they are going to talk about their own players.
