It was I that proposed points scoring rather than win-loss to determine primary standings years ago and it had stuck since. The goal was to keep things “interesting” for as long as possible so players stayed engaged….. I’m regretting that decision right now 🤣 And I voted against it. LOL. Tbh, this year aside, it’s really for the better. I like rewarding all around teams that can win 4-1 or 5-0 but I also like giving credit to those that lose 2-3. I think the only time the overall W-L champion wouldn’t have won is Spring 2021, but that was a wonky year anyway. oh for sure, I still do like the points. I will say that 5-0 victories are usually either pure luck or when someone doesn't know what they are doing. You can't really "build" a team to win 5-0. |

on the upcoming week position question looks like Fairbanks, Ell, and Szulczewski all played front row hitter for their last match the entire time, so they are counted as OH/OPP.

I confirm my shellacking at the hands of vballfreak808. Also, fwiw, Devyn Robinson played MB in set 3 against Rhode Island yesterday. So I guess I have 4 middles this week. Ugh. |

oh for sure, I still do like the points. I will say that 5-0 victories are usually either pure luck or when someone doesn't know what they are doing. You can't really "build" a team to win 5-0. You can build a team that doesn't necessarily sacrifice any specific category, which means that you can win 5-0 when the opposition plays the same lineup. Obviously that won't happen every week. But overall balanced teams can win 5-0, or especially 4-1. |
