The draft matters a lot more than strategy with per set scoring. But 10B in 3S from a MB vs 1B from another MB isn’t about drafting. That’s luck. |

the NCAA scores says it's over- 3 sets, 10 kills for Baird. Fair enough. Good week. Glad I at least kept you guessing until the very end. Honestly, it was a very close week. I think BOTH of our teams under-performed. Glad we faced each other this week and another other teams  |

Scheduling and timing also plays into the luck. Players playing stronger vs. weaker teams in a particular week. Players playing one match vs. two or three matches. Players having outliers weeks, for better or for worse.
There is some skill involved though, admittedly. Choosing lineups against certain opponents. Looking at upcoming opponents strengths vs. weaknesses. Looking at your own strengths vs. weaknesses. Taking a big risk, and winning. Taking a big risk, and losing. General gameplay strategy (i.g. S/S/S vs. OH/OH/OH vs. OH/MB/S vs. OH/MB/L, etc.). Definitely gotta know your strengths, play to them, and look at your opponents weaknesses, and expose them, and execute.

I get the S/S/S strategy, but I'm very much in denial about it. 🙈 I want to prove it wrong, and I think it can be done, with the right set of players. Unfortunately for me, I don't think I have that at the moment. avid 2.0 |

Sure there are weekly nuances like overmatched opponents and such, but having players that can put up stats in all categories is key. Being at the top of the leaderboard is draft/skill, being undefeated at this point is luck.... |
