Also just realized Jenna Story is probably gonna repeat as Fantasy Champ. I guess she deserves it. How is Fantasy Champ determined? Trojan was just referencing that she's on my team (though she hasn't quite lived up to the top libero pick this year because Callie freaking Martin steals her digs every other match). Standings are determined by points, and since I'm up two points over Avid, he needs to keep me from getting a point in order to bet me. We purposefully stacked our teams (not colluding, we just know what we need to do to win) to make aces and digs the deciding categories - he needs both to win, I just need to win one of those. On paper I would have blown him away in aces and digs would be very very close, however this week my team can't buy a freaking ace and digs aren't quite as close as the season averages would suggest. For at least the first match of the week, we both still have two players left - he has Brinkman (Northern Kentucky) and I have Palazzolo (High Point) - season averages would say they cancel out. Then he has Callie Martin and I have Jenna Story who both play for Wright State. Seasonal averages and conventional wisdom would say that the libero (Story) would put up somewhere around 5-6 digs per set, while Martin (OH) would put up 3-4 digs per set which would further extend my lead in digs overall, however that dig stealer has had plenty of matches where she's put very similar dig numbers (or more) than Story, so who the heck knows. Personally, I'd prefer to win aces as that's my category but it's going to come down to the second matches of the week for my players. The fact that my team hasn't put up any aces is only mitigated by the fact that Avid's team hasn't put up aces either.

eazy right now looks like you're up 2.99 kills/set, and I have an OH to play and you have 2 setters still. obviously some +/- can still happen too with our players that have played. but looks like kills are going to be very close. besides Karlie McNabb, my only OH remaining, i can hope that Davis somehow puts up at least some kill numbers against Marquette after she was benched today. at least the 3rd place match is looking to come down to the wire. it sounds like ay being a champion is all but sealed. Told you so. Briggs brought her kills down quite a bit. Going to be tough for Fingall to keep hers that high. McNabb already has you leading that category AND has 3 more aces to extend your lead there.

Briggs I was hoping to go down - but I imagine Fingall/Eggleston will stay close to the same. Fingall has been pretty impressive in matches I watched recently - but maybe it will be hard to do that in back-to-back matches. I'm still sweating - Briggs definitely gave me some confidence back today though.

Also.. Loyola-Chicago is going 5.. I think I want them to lose, I'll take what McNabb has done today for this week rather than take my chances with another match tomorrow.

death, taxes, Wright State going 5 sets, though their last few weeks have been pretty clean 3-0 sweeps.

Will Callie Martin be a 1st round pick next year?
(I guess scoring system/whatever could change to impact that, but I doubt there would be some radical change that would affect that)

Currently update in the battle for 3rd..
Kills trojan is up by 1.43 kps. Aces trojan is up by 0.52 saps.
Holding on to both categories secures 3rd place.

Aces are unpredictable really, but I can take some guesses on the rest: I imagine your pins will stay mostly the same in kills. I could see them all going slightly up or slightly down, but I doubt there will be much change there. I HAVE to hope the Stucky's kills go down. But I think Amber Olson could up hers at the same time. I think Reitsma/McNabb/Jackson will probably stay about the same like your pins. I think Jackson could go slightly up - Reitsma/McNabb slightly down. The two biggest players that can change their averages are Keeley Davis and Austin-Roark. SMU has the tough matchup. Creighton does too, but, Keeley really can't go much further down. If she can at least get a handful of kills tonight, that could make a big difference.

My impression when I see my OH rotating to the backrow towards the end of the set waiting to pick up digs only to see her teammate real off 3 aces in a row to end the set....

I’m away from my computer unfortunately for a week so I’m pretty much incapable of putting a sheet together 😐
