I would guess most P5's are done with scholarships and looking for walk-ons at this point. Will be interesting to see who takes that route vs getting a ride somewhere else. Some names off the top of my head still uncommitted...Renee Jones, Ava Novak, Avery Jesewitz, Taylor Larkin, Melia Johnson, Vivian Parker, Kennedy Johnson, Jamie Marquardt. Shows how difficult it is to get that 4 year offer these kids are dreaming of. Update on some: Ava Novak has committed to University of Chicago - from same VBC as my daughter but will be competing against her so it will be fun to watch. Renee Jones reclassed to 2025 committed to Arizona - thinking this all about scholarship Taylor Larkin committed to the admission process at Harvard Vivian Parker committed to Mizzou Jamie Marquardt committed to Iowa so many top players are still in works at least in terms of roster spots.

Now sure how often it happens but curious how the transfer portal works if a DI players transfers to a DIII program Fair game. As long as they are in good academic standing they can transfer without penalty. Even if they transfer 2 times in 2 years, they can still play D3 that third year without needing to have a season in residence. Happening a handful of times each year and gaining more traction. NIL and super conferences are really widening the gap between the top conferences in D1 and everyone else, so the competitive gap between mid-majors in D1 and D3 is shrinking... Would you rather play at a weak D1 school and go 5-20 with a modest or no scholarship just to tell your friends you play D1? Or play at a competitive D3 school that is probably higher academically, and better life balance, without a huge drop down in quality of volleyball?
