Every team has always had one week in the season with a Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday schedule.  But this is the first time I can remember 8 of the teams doing it at once.  It's usually just been the two travel partners with that schedule for one week.

Yeah, it was usually spaced out across the season, not all at once.

I thought she was playing all the way around last week.  But she was recovering from a reported ab strain at the beginning of the season, so maybe they are giving her a break when possible.

Couldn't get the LMU @ Santa Clara stream to work, but LMU walloped Santa Clara 25-11 in the first set. Santa Clara is currently hitting negative for the match.

BYU easily won set one at Portland, 25-12. Aria Mccomber started at libero, and Elyse Stowell at OH2. Livingston and Stowell both had 4 kills and Gneiting had 3.

San Diego and Gonzaga stayed close until about 15 points, then San Diego pulled away to win set one, 25-18. Edwards & Lukes had 4 kills. Frohling and Blackwell 3.

Portland freshman Lucia Busso from Italy is playing fantastic so far, hitting .700 (7/0/10).

Technical difficulties still for the LMU/Santa Clara match, so probably no video for that match. LMU won set two, 25-16 and leads 2-0.

EDIT: did get video working for the 3rd set

At Gonzaga the second set was very similar to the first set, with the Zags staying close until about 15, then San Diego won comfortably 25-18 to go up 2-0. Only getting a play here or there for this match unfortunately.

Portland played a tight set two against BYU but came up short as BYU won it 25-20 to take a 2-0 lead in that match. Tougher serving from Portland, sloppy passing from BYU, Portland with some good swings against the block, tooling it, plus hitting sharper angles that BYU is not defending well.

LMU looks like they will sweep Santa Clara, leading 23-17 in the 3rd right now.

San Diego also seems well on their way to a sweep with a 17-12 lead at Gonzaga in set 3.

BYU takes a timeout down 5-8 in the set 3 at Portland. Portland just playing steady and not making so many errors. BYU... I just scratch my head at this team sometimes. Portland playing much better defense than BYU.

Pepperdine takes a big lead at San Francisco 16-9

LMU 25-19 in the 3rd over Santa Clara. LMU wins 3-0

For LMU Geissberger, Klemp, and Moore all hit over .500. Geissberger led with 12 kills (.542), Klemp 9 (.556), Moore 6 (.545).

The Lions had 10 service aces on 8 errors, while Santa Clara had 9 service errors with just one ace. Sangiacomo had 14 kills but 12 errors to hit .062.

San Diego rolls in the 3rd, 25-15. USD wins 3-0

Katie Lukes with another monster match hitting .542 with 15 kills. Blackwell had 11 kills on a .556 hit percentage. Frohling and Edwards with 9 apiece, and Stone had 8.

For Gonzaga Zoe Thiros had 11 kills and Grace Ehler hit 1.000 (7/0/7).

Portland up 14-10 in the 3rd over BYU. Portland getting block touches and digging well. BYU not so much. Lots of challenges that are taking way too long in this match.

San Francisco is staying within reach against Pepperdine, down 17-21 in set one.

Harris roll shot over the block and not one BYU player can get to it. Then she hits a blooper backrow attack that Knudsen just assumes is going out and watches it land on the back line. It's like they forgot how to move. BYU takes 2nd TO down 11-16 in set three.

San Francisco pushed back in the 1st set after falling behind early. Pepperdine wins 25-22.

Meg Brown has 5 kills hitting .400. Ahrens and Polk with 3 each. Maria Petkova leads the Dons with 3 in set one.

Pepp hit .243 (15/3/17) to San Fran's .135 (11/6/37).

BYU shows some life after the 2nd TO. Ties it at 18 with an ace on the line. Portland thinks it's out. Another challenge. Wonder how long this one will take.

What? Ref says it's out. Ball was clearly on the line in the replay. Strange decision from her. Portland now up 19-17 instead of tied at 18.
