Announcer talking about Francis being POY -- If that happens, then Stanford might win the NC

Well, I certainly like this year's edition of Francis better than at OH. I didn't recognize her at first with very blond hair and seems stronger/bigger than last year.

I'd say the one big surprise from this first match was how well Francis played. With that said, the Bison weren't a strong opponent and lacked height, so let's see what happens against Florida.
Hopefully Kipp cleans up her errors, especially from the back row.

Thanks for tuning in everyone. Fun to be on the call tonight. I'll standby my comment -- if Francis hits .600 and about 10 blocks every night she'll win Player of the Year OK, off to get a postmatch Starbucks.

I think she'll definitely figure it out though. Great win to start the season!

Great win to start the season! Yeah. In watching this...concurrent with viewing ongoing cumulative statistics in real-time...there were a number of notable trends and achievements. Sami Francis was the indisputable MVP: .667 (11-1-15); .733 K%; eight total Bk (one stuff block); 15.5 points. Elia Rubin had an impressive stat line for her first NCAA match: .312 (8-3-16); two aces (w/3 SEs); 10 points. Kami Miner was her usual incredible self: (3-0-5); 35 A; 3 digs; 3 total Bk. Kipp was second in points (12.5), and yet hit a pretty low .250 (8-4-16) while being fairly wild with consistency: 3 SA, two SE; 3 total Bk, one BE. Baird was Baird...Caitie hit .500 (8-1-14) with one A; 2 aces, one SE; four D; 1 TB; was third in points (10.5). Vicini was solidly, if not spectacularly, steady: .429 (4-1-7); one stuff Bk. Team: .436 (44-10-78); 7 SA/7 SE; nine total Bk. Considering the opposition, nonetheless this was a very good first outing for the Card. On to TN. State!

Pleasantly surprised by Francis in the middle. Better offensively than I thought she would be. Scoring on slides; bringing some heat? OK, I'll take it!
Rubin looked solid. Good serve, good hops, good hustle. Hope her blocking gets a good bit better.
I know Pringle didn't play much but I think we got a glimpse of why Hambly likes her. She's a fast-twitch athlete. She'll go for it.

Yeah, you're a true ambassador of the NCAA women's game. Though I gotta admit I had the sound off.

Just watched and I liked what I saw from Francis in the middle. The slides to her from Miner looked 100x better than any slides that were ran last year so that's great

Saw the reply on youtube.
I am pleasantly surprised too with how good Francis is in the MB. She’s quick and is good offensively. Her slide is a real weapon. However, I know for a fact that she spent a lot of time playing in the middle before in Club/HS so this is good. This will really help Stanford this season.
Losing Francis to the middle but having Rubin filling in nicely.
I think this team is more complete than last year and I’m excited to see them gel together. This team will be special.
