Dang! How does it work when a team enters or leaves poll? New tab, obviously, but how does the dashboard get realigned? Good question! My plan is to keep the teams in that are receiving votes. But if a team tanks, there's obviously no reason to keep them in, so I'll hide their sheet and they'll come off the dashboard. The dashboard charts will remain in alphabetical order, so it'll still be easy to tell who is who. I'm open to other suggestions, though! great work! If a team tanks, their tab should totally be deleted. Now they’ll have an incentive! 🤣

Hello friends! I couldn't be more excited to get this season started - and that's why I couldn't help but fill in the Top 25 Matchup Results as soon as the AVCA poll dropped. I made some massive changes to it this year, but hopefully you'll still find it easy enough to read and navigate. Here are some of the things that I've added: - Team Pages - Every team that received more than 20 votes in the preseason poll got a team page, with their entire season schedule + results, record, win/loss stats, win/loss streak, and website link. You can find these pages by clicking on the team name on the Weekly Results tab or by navigating along the tab bar at the bottom.
- New & Improved Dashboard - I put my newfound formula skills to use in updating the dashboard. The dashboard is meant to allow you to see what teams have the most quality wins and the most ugly losses. I hope it provides a nice visual on who's hot, who's not, and who's sneaking under the radar.
But, most people are still here for the weekly results, which are still front and center. Without further ado, the matchups for the first week of the 2022 season! docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/18uCAvC_jETDSO6EA2NrDJT3Th-8uDoDOzTMsu3IjJKA/edit#gid=31192062As always, comments are on in the sheet if anything needs corrected. I think someone got this pinned last year, which would be awesome. But if not, I can keep posting every week - no big deal. Can't wait for Week 1, y'all! Very nice, I guess I am just too lazy and only entered the matches into a spreadsheet and only the schedules for the top 16, lol. It would be a bit of a pain, but would be cool to see the teams in rank order, rather than alphabetical, but not a big deal.

I have a real rookie question after loading in all of the team schedules.
Does anyone know what the NCAA rules are around the amount of matches you have to play in a season? For example, while Penn State is playing 31 matches, Texas is only playing 24. And even though Penn State's non-con is a tad bit cushier (though, they have Stanford and Oregon on the schedule), they still play in a much tougher league than Texas. 7 matches feels like a pretty big discrepancy when comparing resumes come tourney time.
Anyone know how that works?

Anyone know how that works? It's traditionally been 28 competition dates (29 if you go to Hawaii b/c NCAA makes that exception as an inducement for some reason). Most teams have 20 conference matches (one per day), so they have 8 dates of non-con to fill up. Teams that can double up on a day, like Penn St. that is playing twice some days in non-con after a cupcake appetizer, will get to 31. However, teams have been moving away from playing twice in a day for student-athlete well-being, so 28 matches is becoming kind of common - with 2 single-matches in each of the 4 weeks of non-con. Texas only has 16 conference matches, so they have a whopping 12 competition dates in non-con. They're playing at the same non-con cadence as everyone else, they just get random byes in October and November to leave dates open. It's probably hard for them to find mid-conference season non-con opponents (though they've played Rice in recent years when schedules worked) and they're not overloading early weeks by playing more than two dates in a week. I believe there is some proposal floating around to change the competition dates rule. Not sure where that's at.

This is honestly the worst week of the year. Seeing all those match-ups scheduled for 8/26, 8/26, 8/27, 8/27, 8/28 and knowing I still have to wait FOUR F*CKING DAYS until it all comes back.

Sorry if anyone caught me implementing some new changes to the weekly results/team pages - I needed a better way to keep a team's record updated across both. Got it figured out and now the full results from the weekend are in. Hope it helps, everyone!
