Northern Kentucky won the first two Sets against Mizzou 25-21 and 62-24 after the Tigers blew decent leads. Wow.
MU took the 3rd set 25-20, halting another Norse come-back attempt.

Well, I was stuck watching my son’s football team get beat for 3 hours… what did I miss? I just followed stats.
Also, that match was a program all-time attendance record crowd of just under 2800 so I’d call it a “moral victory” in terms of program building
And I’ve never seen this many students at a Coyote VB match, so … bonus.
I think they had a decent showing vs a true national contender. I’ll probably re-watch it tomorrow.

Updates:
Mizzou won in a reverse-sweep vs NKU yesterday, and got swept by Louisville today (although they get the award for most competitive set against the Cards (-12, -22, -18). The Yotes swept NKU (-23, -13, -23)
So Louisville wins the tournament 3-0, NKU loses 0-3, and USD plays Missouri tomorrow for second place. Could be a competitive match.

Yotes with a narrow lead over Mizzou late in the 5th. Loving this PBP guy. Yeah, he’s been with the team for a couple of years now. I think he is a recent student? The guy before him was horrible. Student that knew very little about the sport. The current guy does a good job. You could play a drinking game where you drink when he says “[player’s name] slams it down!” |
