im suuuuuper duper late but im also super bummed that Jenna Gray isn't part of the roster:(

Some observations (and I’m no pro so don’t come after me too hard!)

The good
- Avery skinner proved she can hold her own, she was kind of giving me SWP vibes
- Reed was steady too (but why didn’t she get set more?)
- Butler can play some defense, love to see it (again, why didn’t she get set more though?)
- After that second set loss, they seemed to regroup fairly well and had MUCH better coverage of the hitters

The bad
- The serving errors were sooo frustrating…
- White looked slow and wasn’t making the athletic plays you usually see from high level liberos, also made a few out of system setting errors
- Dilfers connections seemed off, especially with Alhassen. Sets also seemed predictable at times
- I love watching Drews and it wasn’t awful but 😬

I’d like to see more Evans next match and Lishman as libero (also more Samedy but that’s because I’m biased 👍). Curious to see the lineup changes, if any, next match.

I think they figured things out with Alhassan. I’d put her as a positive. She took some nice swings that Peru had no chance at digging. Her stat line was good. I don’t know about Lishman over White though. I agree Kendall wasn’t great last night but Lishman was bad the last time I saw her in AU. She was consistently the last libero picked in a relatively weak league.

Kinda shocked by Bri’s stat line, I could’ve sworn she had more kills and not many errors from what I saw! Her blocking was great though!

she's definitely has an edge on everyone else

Alhassan and Butler are incredibly athletic, and both have been listed as touching very high 10' to 11' on approach. It has to be tricky to learn to set a quick set to a middle that high, especially from a 5'10 ish setter. But both of these middles could just tear up a match if they could actually contact the ball at the top of their reach instead of swatting with a bent elbow. I would love to see the team get this connection down!!
