Wow…UCSB could potentially be 0-8 before getting their first win against a bad Georgetown team. What has happened to the Gauchos? They almost made postseason last year and now they are the worst team in the conference…record wise.

Just watching a little of their match vs. Baylor, and looking through the box scores for previous matches. They seem to be struggling with consistent serve-receive, passing, and setting. H% is low. I see them getting reps for three setters in their 6-2. Their blocking has been good, and kept them in matches. But they look a long-shot at getting to NCAA's w/o the AQ. I'm guessing it's not a surprise to their coaching staff, and likely they view their remaining non-conference as just about getting their act together by conference. |

They could enter the conference and still be competitive but getting smoked like this in preseason doesn’t bode well for morale. …especially for a team that placed 2 on the all conference preseason team and retuned their starting setter. Cal Poly is also struggling so the teams predicting to finish near the top are not helping the conference’s reputation. |
