Looking forward to the San Diego State/Maryland matchup. Keep hoping the Aztecs can turn their program around. Remember them during the Rudy Suwara years when they were one of the best teams in the country. Now I attend Maryland games, switching coasts.

Are the libero and DS still hurt for SDSU? If they aren't playing this weekend, it's going to be long tournament for the Aztecs. If they both are playing, I feel they have a very good chance against all 3 teams.

Arizona just can't get away with playing Maldonado-Diaz, Hodge, and Stubbe together.

When AZ barely sneaks by Sac State 15-13 in the 5th..phew. Stubbe had a terrible match, and team total of 27 hitting errors, but Johnson and Maldonado stepped it up to lead with 15 kills each. Now, how much energy do they have left for SDSU this evening is the question.

AZ finish off with a sweep. Great performance in the 3rd set 25-11 hitting .407. 10 service aces in the match. SDSU needs to work on serve receive clearly.

Arizona was just off against Sac State. Especially bad match for Puk Stubbe. The turnaround between that and the match against SDSU was 180°. Very efficient hitting vs SDSU. Was a huge improvement for Stubbe, especially. Serving was so much better than it has been in a few games. I was especially pleased to see Ana Heath's serve come back. She is difficult to deal with when she's serving well. I didn't post here last night because our old dog finally succumbed to cancer and I was not very focused. I did talk to Rubio after the match and wrote a short recap, though. www.azdesertswarm.com/volleyball/2022/9/10/23345563/arizona-wildcats-volleyball-double-header-sacramento-state-san-diego-narrow-victory-blowout-pinsNo video again today for Arizona-Maryland, so I am going to try to get his impressions again right after. Will post when I can.
