How is there a "media timeout" when we have to follow this game by live stats?

How is there a "media timeout" when we have to follow this game by live stats? I actually find it weird that this ISNT the norm. For basketball, media timeouts are standard across every game that’s played all season long. Under 16:00, 12:00, 8:00 and 4:00. Why does it make sense that some matches have different numbers of timeouts?

Why does it make sense that some matches have different numbers of timeouts? I agree, I wish we would just have a permanent TO at 15 and only 1 TO for each team each set. I hated watching the end of set 3 of Louisville v Kentucky this week where we had 3 TOs and 3 points. When OSU isn't televised at home they don't take the 15 point TO even though all games are streamed.

Sooooooo annoying when interesting matchups like this don't get even a raw live stream because the host institution can't be bothered.
